Chase girls yes, but after elementary school we also learn what many other species of animals don't learn, often males of those species die at young ages as a result of their acting on instinct/impulse, the reaction is territorial dispute where often one of the males of that species dies. Humans (supposedly) have an advantage, we learn that we are only the center of our universe, but in reality just very small critters that are part of a social structure forced to interact, comply with set's of rules, and in time learn that even in our culture (or most cultures) freedom only exists within boundaries. Freedom in "lying cheating" is only freedom existing within aberration, and it has a strange way of backfiring on us in time. Would we want our kids, or loved ones learning "gambling with high odd's, and ignoring emotion and ethical constructs is what "being male is really about" ?  Humans don't have to learn everything thru hard knocks, this is an advantage of having the capacity to reason.  Point being,  lying, cheating,  works great until someone else decides to take the same liberty and steal our possessions, move into our home, sleep around bringing other's back home night after night... get a restraining order against us if we don't comply.. and let's for discussion's sake say that person just happens to be ...hmmmm....a "spouse" ??

Anyway, I need to get a few more hours of sleep, I just had a weird dream that I let my hair down, and noticed how bumpy and ugly my scalp was  :(

Catch you folks in abit.... Still in a horrible dream..... (in actuality this dream was being in a Dodge dealership Service bay as a car mechanic..I didn't have a clue how to do anything... but I was stuck, because this was my new job) Strangest part of this dream,  I was barefooted and slipping around on grease.

Steven, I love you like a brother.....I swear I do.....And I promise you that you ain't near as fragile as you think....and that it's ok-that's it's not selfish-that if you grab and rip at what you want and if you win it, it's ok to thump your chest afterwards...and it's ok if you don't win and bleed a little bit....Just bleed with broken fingernails from clawing at what you want.

Not that anyone would be interested.  BUT- I met the man of my dreams at Karaoke.   I have to say I will love him till the end.  He had a voice that made my heart melt.  I could listen to him all night.   I still hear the songs he sang to me because they play them on the radio, (by the original artists now,) but he sounded like them.  He  was darn good, and I am sure he still is.  But as life would have it, we no longer are together.  Nothing I wouldn't have done for him.  But somewhere along the line just didn't do what was right or something.  Think there just wasn't enough time in a day for us.  Too much work, not enough play with EACHOTHER, and boom.  The bomb dropped.  But I will always think of him, especially when I hear those songs.  And I will always love him.

I like to hear someone say their love is forever....It's a rare thing now a days.....I once wrote a song named 'forever'...a long time ago when I was really down hard.

...."Are you married?...Or is that just a ring....
Is it like mine?...does it stand for anything?
Mine is only an old band of yellowed gold....
At least it holds me..till at night when I'm alone there beside her.

Are you lonely, do you cry yourself to sleep?
And then each morning, again swear to him you'll keep
all the promises..."...Gee, it's been so long it doesn't hurt anymore and I've forgotten the words to my own song.

Woops!  Keith you were well on the way to becoming my hero and role model.  Now I find out that you've got a sensitive and sentimental side.  I hope my confidence in you hasn't been misplaced.

I think I met a lot of other people's girlfriends at karaoke. That's better in a zen sort of way, I think.  [glow=tomato][/glow]

I read this last night,  most can identify with this type situation, and it's a very painful situation.  Sort've got a knot in my gut when I read this

It's just that I learned by watching them....You ever seen how a group of women get all in a huddle when one of their exes walks in the club...and then how one or two of them try to get his attention?...And the whole time his ex is mad as a wet hen cause he is there and some of her friends are now hitting on him?.....Yep, the drama beats any TV soap opera.....

But if he limps in looking like a rejected puppy dog, they all ignore him and he goes home alone.

They are just like a herd of mares...you gotta learn to watch their eyes and ears when you are deciding which one to cut from the herd....There will always be one that's keeps one eye and ear turned at you....The rest watch her.

Whew!  I was worried about you for a little while there, Keith.  Now that my confidence in you has been restored I'll be eagerly awaiting more installments in what I'm calling the "World According to Keith".  Who knows this may be a whole new cottage industry for you.  Anyway I need a role model bad, BlueStainedShoes already told me I was too clean cut and seemed like a nice guy (sorry, I'm paraphrasing because I don't have enough brain cells left to recall exactly what she said).  So anything to can do to help me change my hopelessly boring image would be a big plus.  But let's take it easy on the sensitive stuff.  Okay?

How'm I gonna get to Florida?  I've already got 66,000 miles on my 50,000 mile tires.  Beside, I'm not fond of Florida.

I'd offer to scout around here in Wisconsin but this is not exaclty fertile ground, even though it is the Harley capital of the world.

Aside from that, I don't have a clue as to how to accomplish the task.  A girl did buy me a nice Rickenbaker quitar once, but she was young and impressionable.  I'm kind of past the point where I appeal to the young and impressionable.  A couple of weeks ago a lady did buy me a Snickers bar, but I don't think that counts for much.

But the real problem is my image, as BlueStainedShoes so kindly pointed out.  A few years ago my band was playing a biker bar in Milwaukee.  We were on a break and I was just sitting watching some very interesting scenery going by and falliing in love about every 5 seconds when this lady came and sat down beside me.  Her first words were, "You're way too clean cut for a place like this."

I guess if I could actually get a woman to buy me a Harley I'd have something to write about.

Anyway, I'll do what I can.

Larry

I have a few times. Probably because that's the only place I really go when I go out. I sure limit my dating options. ;)

Kap,

Naw.  I sold the Rick long ago in a galaxy far, far away.  I gave up electric guitar for awhile to pursue a career in folk music.  As I recall the $ from the Rick were used to by an Akai reel to reel tape recorder with sound on sound.  It was my introduction to playing all the instruments myself and singing all the parts myself.   I sure spent a lot of enjoyable hours with that tape recorder.

Truth to tell I didn't, and don't, miss the Rick much.  It was a beautiful instrument but I couldn't keep it in tune, the neck wasn't anything to write home about and the pickups were weak (a Rick characteristic I believe).

Once I got back into rock & roll I got myself an American Standard Strat and I've now moved on to a Carvin AE-185 (similar to the old Tele Thinline with the f-hole; but this one's got a piezo pick up in the bridge which allows me to use it for acoustic stuff too—it works remarkably well).

Larry
