rat shack has adaptors for 1/4" to 1/8" for hookup to pcs... also usb connections, and I think an XLR to 1/8"

Yeah, I think I'm gonna try and get one of the Pro sound cards that Keith mentioned - perhaps at Fry's tomorrow. Then I should be able to hook it up no problem. Still not sure about my pc though with all the tons of fans I put in it so I could overclock and keep it cool. Truthfully I have like 12 fans in there. It sounds like a big air cleaner when it runs, and well, I did put filters in it to keep the insides clean and dust free so I think it actually doubles as an air cleaner.

I was also hearing some background hum off my headphones plugged into the speaker jack. So the hum, and the fan noise could be a problem for recording. I think it may also be a little weird / different to sing with the headphones on. I tried that downstairs for a little while on my existing setup with wireless headphones, and I never felt quite right. Seems there was a split second delay that always distracted me from singing the songs as well as possible.

Shure SM58 here but I would really like to try another mic if someone could  recommend one for a female with a range that at times is lower than most men

I have a bit of a range, too. I love the Shure SM58 but I prefer the Sennheiser e845 on my lower songs, especially the slower stuff. Chuck can give you more tehcnical info if you are interested.

I just use a Shure SM58.  My voice doesn't have a very low register.
