Squid, your scrolling marquee of "If you can't be an athlete, be an athletic supporter" just triggered a fond memory for me.

Back in college I was in a fraternity, and as such, we made about 15 various t-shirts a year to comemorate various functions, athletic events, achievements, etc.

I was called upon to design our intramural sports shirt after out old one was banned by the university (it was a picture of an Aunt Jamima look-alike sitting on a rocking chair smoking a cigar....I don't know who came up with it or even what it meant, but the university thought it was racist for some reason). ANYWAY I am in NO way an artist, but I was an English major and came up with this slogan for our shirts:

Front of the shirt:
If you can't beat us on the field...

Back of the Shirt:
Beat us off...

Ah, the memories. I loved that shirt!!

Hmm, shipping from Ontario, damn that import tax thing. Would you take my last few rolled up quarters for the bidding?  :yum:

You need the New Ronce autosnype. It will bid to ammounts that just barely take the auction away from the current bidder. It even slices, dices, chops, and juliens fries.

...and it comes with your name on the side. Just plug it in to your USB or firewire port and you're ready to bid.

It's only 4 easy payments of 148.63 but, If you act now we will double the value and send you two of these cute little gems. Let that special someone know how much you really care. ... but wait there's more, all callers for the next 3 minutes will not have to make the final payment.

How can you live without it. Order now and get this special USB/Firewire powered chicken rotisserie. Place a frozen chicken in the slot and only 8 hours later you will have a chicken that your own mom will be jealous of.

Be the first on your block, quantites limited, not reponsible for anyone annoyed by the ad department.

Act Now!

You are so right!

My response system seems to be immune to anything except large sums of money or offers I can't refuse from beautiful women.  At least that's the way it seems to me.  At this point it's only a theory but I'm hoping to have a chance to prove it if I ever get the chance.  At this point, however, it appears to be unlikely.

Damn!  I wasn't on here yesterday and I missed out on the "call in the next 3 minutes thing".  Oh well, I guess I wouldn't want my mom to be jealous of a chicken.  I was kind of looking forware to the julienne fries.  I always wanted to know what those things were and why Ron Popeil that they were so important.
