I have a natural vibrato but Robin, a singer on one of my songs has this cool slower vibrato. Personally, I think the most intereting singers have the ability to straight sing parts and then vibrato on endings and real dramatic parts . That can sound pretty interesting. Alternate singers seems to vibrate not - males that is - lapse micro flat to get that Alt quality which is usually achieved by meticulously avoiding playing anything but distorted chords.

For a truly unique version of vibrato and a song to wake you up in an altered state - try Fire - by Arthur Brown. I once had my alarm clock on 10 and was awakened by "I am the God of Hell Fire and I bring you - Fire."

listen to his vibrato. It is very unique.

It's that wavering sound in people's voices.

Traditionally heard on extended notes, but nowadays you hear it more and more often all the way through the vocals.

Stevie Nicks has an almost constant vibrato. Linda Ronstadt mostly uses hers on extended notes (notes that are being held).
