Matt, I'm not doubting you met her, but Julia Roberts is actually about 5'9". Remember her extremely long legs in the jacuzzi scene and how she towered over Richard Gere in Pretty Woman in certain scenes?

Sher, I saw James Woods in Scary Movie 3 and could not stop laughing at his performance as one of the exorcising priests. What a departure for him! I would have loved to have your experiences!

it's sure what it seemed to be. It was about ten or fifteen years ago. Could be my memory doubting me.

Hey I wanna play! LOL
I havent been on these forums or submitted anything in a long while but I was happy to see this thread and read all the posts about ppl meeting famous ppl...
I myself, have met a few famous people....
Well, the first was when I went to see Poison (i was an 80's child)...I was about 16 and Bret Michaels and CC Deville asked me and my friends to go party with them after the concert.... We couldnt because my friends mom was picking us up and we had to be out front at a certain time... I wanted to ditch her mom and just go but we didnt....who KNOWS what would have hapened! Oh mY!

Since then, I have met (and have autographs from most)...

Howie Mandel
Trisha Yearwood (my sister knows her personally)
Garth Brooks (met him twice and talked to him)
Wynonna
Jeff Wood (country singer)
LeAnn Rimes
SheDaisy
Joe Nichols (met him twice, once was just last week...and let me tell you, that man is a sweetheart! Takes so much time for his fans! AND he is an awesome performer!!)
Shania Twain
Faith Hill
All the top 12 contestants from Nashville Star season 2
Mandy Barnett (country singer--and my vocal coach)
Jamie O'neal (she and her sister were at a karaoke bar that my friend and I were at this past summer...didnt know she was there until they got up to sing...at this same karaoke bar, Kid Rock was there the night before he had his concert in Nashville)

But I think the best one, is when I was playing a gig this past summer, downtown Nashville and it was a packed joint right on Broadway... and Sara Evans came up to me at the bar during a break and bought me a drink and asked me why I didnt sing any of her songs! LOL She was joking, of course but caught me totally off guard. (didnt even know she was in there)She told me she was impressed and enjoyed listening to me....
She signed a few autographs from fans while she was at the bar getting the drinks and turned to me while signing and said "dont worry honey, I have a feeling you will sign lots of these someday"
That was soo awesome!

Anyway, those are my fame claims... wooptie! LOL
Peace & Love!

I was a person that pushes the manufacturers to put out Queensrcyhe stuff a lot. Tim D over on another forum did before I did, and it's funny to sit and talk with him about it. Anyway, SC finally put out SC8691 which is a Queensryche VS Rush cdg. I happily emailed the president of the Fan Club... who at that time was Geoff Tate (lead singer)'s wife Susan.

She and I conversed for a while across email, and when I told her about the cdg, she happily informed the website.

Fast forward to a year or so later. Queensryche was getting ready to release their latest cd, a basic greatest hits, with a lot of new material. "Evolution". QR put on a pretty exclusive private show for members of their fan club, at a great Seattle club. My lady Carol and I boogied up to Seattle from Portland, and got REALLy bad cramps in our lower backs from standing for so long (not 16 any more! LOL!).

Finally the concert started. In the middle of it, Geoff starts talkin' to us all... saying what a thrill it was to play to their fans. Started giving out humorous stories of stuff the fans did... the band ALWAYS went out hobnobbin' with their fans for hours after a show, allowing photo ops, autogrraphs, etc. Anyway, he started telling us these stories... being invited out to breakfast. there was a hoot and holler, and Geoff pointed out to the guy and said "yeah I'm talkin' about you Danny!" And then said, "Some of you are bugging karaoke companies about getting our stuff released", and I hooted and hollered, and he pointed over at me and grinned and said "Thanks Matt!"

I'm also on a joking relationship with my favorite WRITER on the planet, R.A. Salvatore. Another down to earth person that loves his fans, and converses with them via his website, and will have extensive book signing tours. At a recent stop-over here in Portland, I took my son to the signing, and Bob and I conversed very comfortably. Zack was sitting there shaking like a leaf, and I had to remind myself that Bob Salvatore IS a pretty famous writer! The man was my idol for so long, and Zack's too. But then Zack relaxed when Bob started talking to him, and agreeing with my kid when he complained about the over-reactions of the schools when it came to the Colombine attrocity (Zack was upset over the restrictions of clothing and stuff)...

Basically seeing a man we both thought of as a wonderful person, and father, really was the highlight of our lives.

In the restaurant business, we call that the "Walk-In Syndrome"

You go into their large refrigerator, called a Walk-In, and forget why you went in there! LOL! Happens all the time!

You know, I had heard that... I finally sat down and watched the movie, and it was very cute. I don't really like Hugh Grant that much, but understand many people do... mostly women! LOL!

I think MANY celebs are happy to be treated as regular joes!

and NashvilleSinger, that's awesome! I'm rapidly becoming a big fan of hers... and that's quite a compliment! Congrats.

WOW Nashvillesinger!!!!
I'd KILL to meet all the people you have.... I'm a huge country nut, but Adam Gregory's the only Country singer I've met...

Trisha Yearwood, and Garth Brooks... that would be incredible... actually, I grew up in a veeeeery strict and religous household, and cd's n stuff were frowned upon, so i was never allowed to listen to music growing up (unless it was gospel! lol!) so when I got old enough to sneak out and buy ma own.. the FIRST cd I EVER got was Trisha Yearwood's songbook! LOL! I musta been about 15.... lemee tell ya.. I WORE IT OUT!!!! LOL!
ahh memories....

and JOE NICHOLS.... my goodness, he's HOT, huh??? lmao... maybe it's just me... I dated a guy that looked soooo much like him, it's SCAREY! 'cept he had short spikey hair.... anyways... I'm babbling...

That's really cool about Sara Evans, too...... wow what a compliment, huh? I'm not a huge fan of her voice, but I love a lot of her songs....
anyways... I'm babbling... the point of this post is to tell ya I'M FRICKEN JELOUS!! I want to meet all those fantastic singers!!!

Yeah Crystal...
I dont blame you for sneaking out to buy CD's! My goodness.... no music in your life... or atleast not of your choice?? That sucks rocks!!!
I dont think I could cope!!

But, yeah I'm not a huge fan of Sara's voice either (and thats honestly why i dont sing her songs....not a HUGE fan but i didnt tell her that lol)
But it was still awesome!

Oh and here is a pic from last week when I met Joe... this is my fiancee' talking to him and getting an autograph...
Image

And this is the autograph we got for his sister... Notice in the upper right corner, it says "will you marry me?"
I had him put that on there for chris's sister because she is always saying how someday she will marry him... and he was such a good sport about it!

Image

Anyway... one of these days, i need to take all my autographs and scan them... just incase they ever get destroyed or stolen...
And i forgot to mention a few others I met...

Tim Watson (fiddle player/singer/comedian)
Jennifer Hanson
98 degrees and Nick Lechey
The Warren Brothers

But, there are a few people I still want to meet and get autographs from..
Like, Reba McEntire, Anastacia, Billy Joel, Anyone from the cast of friends, Dixie Chicks and so many others. I guess you can say, I am an autograph collector.

Peace & Love!

I posted my pic's from last seasons Nashville Star....
I have some pics on there, including Nancy O'dell who was another person I met and got an autograph from... and she is just so damn pretty in person.. I mean, you see ppl on TV and think "yeah yeah with all that makeup and lighting, i'd look good too"...
But seriously she is like a barbie doll in person... AND she is really sweet too.

Next time ill post my pics of leann rimes, shania, and shedaisy.
