Had a group come in tonight at 12:30, we shut karaoke down at 1, they expected they should be up because all these people have already sang at least once or twice. I basically told them you came in after I called last call for singers & these people have been here all night supporting the club ie spending money & waiting to sing one more timel One replied well i've been a bartender for 15 years & knows how the karaoke works & you are supposed to get the new singers up. I simply replied well you obviously do not know how it works here because we cut off all slips at a certain time to make sure everyone that has been here will get their last opportunity to sing, if you would have came in before that time, I quite possibly could have gotten you up. The one gal replied well we have millionaires in our group & we could buy this place & put you out of business. I simply replid back well if that's the case then I will end my show off tonight with a bang, but you still won't be able to sing tonight. They said will fine then we'll just take our money elsewhere, I said see ya! I told this to the bartender & waiter on duty & they said they were giving them a hard time as well because they were not allowed straight shots by that time either.

Lon I hear ya - I've had those type too.

I had a guy get really mad at me because he wanted me to play a Kid Rock song. I told him it was karaoke. If he wanted to hear the song we'd have to find someone to sing it. He couldn't understand that if I played the song there would be no singer in it. I had 40 singers that night and even if I had the capability to play music I wouldn't do it. He acted as if I was lying to him and stomped off.

what kills me about people like that is if all that they really said was true, they wouldn't be complaining about being able to buy the place... they'd just shut up and do it the next day! !

I swear, loudmouths in every form nowadays!

I think it has something to do with what us older folks called manners.
There just aren't more. People are rude all over, on the road in the
grocery stores and when they've had a few drinks watch out!
People today think that everyone owes them something and if they
don't get it they scream and complain until they do or they play a
race card.

People get a different mentality when it comes to entertainment.

Karaoke:

It's not a strip club - so don't grab my butt

It's not a department store - The customer isn't always right.

It's not a restaurant - you can't bribe me for a better spot

It's not a rock concert where you are the star - so don't swing the mic by the cable

I'm not a DJ - so don't ask me to play music

I'm not your mother or wife - so take care of your own drunk butt

I'm not your personal slave - so look up your own songs

I'm not the bartender - so don't hit on me

Wow Lonnie you handled that very professionally. I would have probably let my mouth get away from me with that kind of behavior. There are just some types of behavior that get under my skin and this is one of them. I despise folks who feel like they have to play the money card to get their way.

As If money had anything to do with that situation anyway....
