I see “hell” a few times, so that must be okay, but I see a post of mine in this thread edited to read “gosh darn”… LOL  (I didn't originally say "G/D", just the "D" word)

I may the term “dang” if I catch myself, but,

“GOSH DARN” ?!?!?!

Oh well, that alone will keep me from making that mistake again.   LOL

Just to note that I appreciate the restrictions on the language here.

I frequent a site, especially the political/social issues forum there. where even with some restrictions, it gets pretty unnecessarily nasty... and I know a couple which are even worse.

:puke:  <---- gosh darn, that's nasty.

I do mary Chapin Carpenter- Down at the Twist and Shout and Joan Jett's Dirty Deeds on SGB....they seem to work out nice.

I would say Crazy by Patsy, but it was written and preformed by Willie Nelson, so is it really a girls song?

I've done Pat Benetar's "We Belong" and "These Are The Days" by 10,000 Maniacs.   There are a few others I plan to do sometime, like "Stay (I Missed You)" by Lisa Loeb.  My limited experience doing "girl songs" in public is that the audience seems kind of confused by it, like "Doesn't he know that's a girl song?"

I have a couple of "regular" songs I do that were done by gals.

"I Will Remember" by Amy Grant - great song from the 80s.
"Dog And Butterfly" by Heart - still workin' on this.

Just about any Christy McVie vocal from Fleetwood Mac. Stevie songs are okay, but are usually done to death by gals around my area (both in Portland and here in KC).

"You Keep Me Hangin' On" by Kim Wilde with ONE word change! STTW and EK put out a terrific version of it!

I had a great a cappella arrangement in mind for the College mens glee club I started and directed.  Problem is as much as I like Burt Bacharach arrangements, the guys were too macho to be heard singing

"Before I put on my makeup"
"I say a little prayer for you"

I really was aching to write a glee arrangement of "Say a little prayer",  but I had to stick with The Association tunes instead.

Those wusses   :(

Hey Steven, I have been known to do that song once or twice!  Just changed the first verse to:

The moment I wake up
Before you put on your make up
I say a little prayer for you
While combing my hair now
And wondering just what to wear now......

Had a go at "I Will Survive" and "Hopelessly Devoted To You" as well!

:D

Oh man Murray, THanks     You've given me something to do tonight,  Ponder a parody using your first two lines...HEHEHEHE...

The moment I wake up
Before you put on your make up
I say a little prayer for you
While combing my hair now
I blundered and took that dare how ?
While drunk I needed sex, but EWW !

(I need to do some thinking about the verse)

By the way, regarding "Me and Bobby McGee" that might've been a collaberation between Miller and Kristofferson <SP>

I don't see too many guys doing "girly" songs.  But I do a few myself--  I think in many cases its too feminine or just too high for guys to sing.  Of course, just like clothes its perfectly acceptable for a woman to do guy things.  Not always so for a guy to do "girl" things....

Jefferson Airplane - Somebody to love
(I can't remember any others at the moment)

I'd love, as a goof, to do Lady Marmalade.   One time (and band camp-- not really -- just had to throw that in..  :drunk: )... Anyway, one time I was waiting to sing.  The KJ was trying to fix something on her rig.  She played lady marmalade to fill until she was ready and I was singing it w/out the mic.   I had stopped, then a regular I see there asked me if somebody was singing it.  I said, yeah, it was me.   He looked at me and said, figures (I can do a pretty high falsetto)  Even the KJ said I should probably trying singing it.

I'd like to do some Melisa Etheridge stuff too (come to my windows, you're the only one).

Another time, I was at a contest (not competing) and this guy sang a duet (can't remember which) and he did both parts (obviously).  The kicker was that when he did the girl part-- he REALLY sounded like a girl.  When he did the guy part, he sounded like a guy.  Was almost sureal.   :D

Murray being a new zealander probably would have reworked that last line ... while drunk I needed sex, with EWE

Just a thought, NZ the place where men are men and the sheep are scared

what's so funny ?   I'm in love  :doctor:

She's a tad Ba-aa-shful though.

(That's a hilarious mock on the Adult Friend Finder site, and quite honestly
very little I've seen on the local match.com site looks much better)

Vicki,  Check out the 7 year old drummer, or the last link I posted in the Music and Musicians thread.   This kid is absolutely amazing.  I'm trying to find links on very young kids who are phenomenally gifted musicians.

I need to find some early Star Search kids, or Karaoke performing youngsters that are talented too..  It's just so difficult to believe that kids so young, can have such skill and talent.

will check it out Kappy...but right now I am up to my neck in house tidying...husband is due home after 10 days away...I think its politically correct to have a clean house before breaking the news there are 3 new mics in the house. Actually I think the two I bought are going to pale into insignificance when he spies the one I have been sent. He will immediately jump to conclusions that are way off the mark.
In fact he will be so wound up about that I should just about be able to slide the other two by him without him noticing  LMAO
