Watching a Karaoke Movie with all your Karaoke friends the morning after having a Karaoke Party at your house AND clapping after each person in the movie finishes their song.....
And you may be a Karaoke junkie if.. You can't wait for the new Karaoke King Movie to come out.....

You might be a karaoke junkie if........
You're SERIOUSLY considering laying out $200 to Zoom (UK) because they'll make a custom track for you if they can get the rights (which in the UK USUALLY happens).
I've got about ten songs I'd LOVE to get, and the thought of spending 2 GRAND is frightening, but even moreso that I know I'll probably do it one song at a time! !

you keep adding on to your "professional" system even though you're not a professional, and not rich....I must have 1500 bucks invested so far minimum in music, equipment and other stuff. probably more like 2000. I even just bought a Honda element so I could have something decent to carry all this crap around it. somebody stop me!

Yes, you're becoming an addict. As a friend, I feel I should help you overcome your weakness. So, I'll offer you a really good (fair market price, minus depreciation and all that) for all your stuff. :D
You know, I don't splurge on karaoke stuff. I did buy a brand new mixer & karaoke machine a year ago... and some new mics & mic cords. I always pick up new cdg's here and there. But you don't realize how much you have spent till you start counting cdg's and stuff.... then you're like...  .... I guess all in all, I have alot tied up into mine as well. I even rented a bigger house when I moved..... JUST to have a spare music room:) I'm moving again, cause I don't care for this area, and I don't even take a second glance at homes that DON'T have a room I can set up for a music room.
But.... I'm not a karaoke junkie:) LOL

So you thing that's a good one?
haha..... sure, use it all ya want.
(but I'm being serious here, I really don't get much time during the week to be here)
I gotta go spend some time listening in SS though.... these forums are much too dead nowadays. I don't know what's happening to everyone..... but the posting has dropped off big time. It doesn't take me much time to catch up on reading threads..... cause there are so few active ones.
(or hey... since the place is so empty... we could just do a "take over"? It would be simple enough, nobody is even here guarding their threads) LOL

On a serious note I truly agree with you. I spend most of my time enjoying the music in SS. Occasionally I will pop into the forums to see what's going on. I don't particularly have a lot of time to be here at all, but I've notice myself logging in when I need to relax and take my mind off some of lifes hum drum moments. That's sometimes at 12 in the afternoon or 12 midnight. For me it's a good place to enjoy my down time.

About 2 years ago I found some "steals" on Ebay.. I got a bunch of cdg's for $3 and less each. I was doing cartwheels in anticipation. (they were NuTech) But nobody had warned me of them, it was a new brand to me. to be fair, SOME of them are okay..... but some lyrics don't even change colors, some go about a line ahead of the song, and some of them sound SO midi it's discusting. Quote: maybe I'll sell all the crappy ones on ebay. Good idea. Some dumbarse (read above, Lol) would most likely buy them all:) Quote: ...taurus/gemini cusps are so easily led.
Now you're scaring me, making me think you KNOW me... haha.
Yes, we are often gullible. Thank heavens we also have a mean, stubborn streak, and aren't afraid to speak our minds as well... or we'd be hopeless:)
Hiya Jim.

This post is a little off topic, but I just had to respond to your last post. At one point, one of us (now banned) stated that he only included one version of each song in his catalog and that version was the best. When questioned as to what determined the best version, he answered that it was the one closest to the radio version. And he implied that he knew each song well enough to know which version was the closest.
I stated in another thread that when it comes to being a KJ, there are often varying opinions regarding how to run a show and often each of those opinions is correct. Perhaps that is true as to singer preferences as well.
One of the first CDG's I ever owned was the BS Billy Joel. Not being that familiar with his material, but owning a cassette of his stuff, I sat down with the BS CDG and learned the songs (from my Cassette). I found the BS version true to what is on my cassette. And many times when I go out, there are versions of Billy Joel songs that really suck (and they're not BS versions). Two songs I will never try without the BS version being available is River of Dreams and We Didn't Start The Fire
And since I just cracked by Billy Joel Disc, I'll be happy to buy yours. I will PM you in that regard right now.

I just about stroked when the last karaoke host on Carnival said he was not going to start until he got at least 5 singers signed up. WHAT.???
It takes forever that first night to get folks up there.....
Solution...I signed up 5 times!!!!
Problem solved.

Opps! How could I have forgotten this one!
Sound asleep in bed with your spouse and you begin clapping while at the same time announcing "Alright, and that was Sandy." " Great Job Sandy".
Then awaking in the morning to your spouse looking at you and asked "And how was she?" As he then explains how you woke him up while you were at a Karaoke job in your sleep!
