Hey, we Texans are HOT! Except for right now.
The fun part about the South getting ice and snow is that we do not have snow tires and most of us cannot drive worth a sheet in this stuff. A FedEx truck pulling two trailers wiped out in Dallas early this morning. So much for on-time delivery today.
It will be over tomorrow, though, and we can complain about our typical winter weather--45 degrees and rainy.

Okay now it's coming my way. The report is a foot of snow by morning. O'hare Airport has cancelled 100s of flights in anticipation of the weather. My daughter came home saying they may get a snow day tomorrow they announced it at school.
I'll keep ya posted, but this doesn't sound good. Where's my binkie.

Whine, whine, whine ... ya'll need a GOOD blast of cold to make you appreciate your weather! The warmest it's been here since October is around 26. Our coldest has been -18 (that's farenheit).
Babs ... send some of that snow here please. Pretty soon our water pipes are going to freeze (freeze line is now below 6 feet). We've only had about 2 inches so far and that's not enough to insulate the ground.

It's not Chicago and it's not Alaska but it sure is unusual here and I'm loving it! Expecially in November!
Here's a pic I took of Richard about 4:45 p.m. when it was really flying and one of Sophie after she found one of her binky's buried under the snow and brought it in the house.. She hated that it was frozen solid!

Oh it's coming down now. Sleet, snow, and freezing rain I can't tell, but it sounds like hail hitting the house. I hope it clears up for karaokr tomorrow and Saturday.

WoooHoooooo It's snowin' here .... temps rose about 10 deg. and we have 2 inches already! Means the fun and games are about to begin on the drive to work!
And, in case anyone's wondering, I don't use studded tires. Of course we don't get the sleet and icing ya'll do either. I'll try to remember to take a pic. I have to teach a class on energy isolation at one of our buildings only 11 miles from here.

I'm almost feeling guilty about being in South Florida and it being 82 degrees and partly cloudy. It may go down to 70 degrees tonight....
**ducks from the snowballs being thrown now....**
If you can make it here, 1st drink is on me!

Wow we got a 12" of snow here. The kids didn't have school and most people didn't have to work. O'hare Airport shut down for a while.
We bounce back quick here. The snow plows were out in full force and everything is a go now.

Snow plows? Whoa! We got sand trucks. Not even salt; just sand. Overpasses only. Most overpasses, not all.
That is how to bring a Texan to his knees--throw sleet at him.
