I agree 100% Missy..... that's the best advice I've seen here.
I think the most important aspect in singing ANYTHING... is you need to have some kind of a "connection" with the song. Find a song that strikes a chord with you (no pun intended :D )..... and let er' rip.
Things like perfect pitch, you can work on. But, don't tech it to death and lose the emotion that first made ya feel the song. Sometimes, the feeling put in a song that you identify with... can outweigh the technical perfection, and make it more appealing to the listener.
Just my 2 cents.... (but it's gaining interest, and I compound daily, so hurry and read this) LOL
