If I can catch one I might try it blackened. Heck I might as well cath a copper-head while I'm at it.

First I need to look them up to see how to identify them.

Copperhead won't hurt you,  maybe a little dizzy and slightly nauseated,  they also aren't aggressive snakes.  Very young, and very old are vulnerable to getting sick if bitten...You folks have scorpions ?

I guess since grasshopper's like potato's idaho, and montana are likely places for them.

Worst experience I had with any animal up here was this.... Damn neighbors cat used to chase after my achille's tendon as I'd leave their apt to feed him.... swat and bite hard..... I never knew about that tendency...

Attacks (Ankle Biting)

Ankle biting and sudden attacks are most often associated with predatory aggression. Cats have a strong natural desire to hunt. Inside the house, there isn't much to satisfy this desire. Mice, grasshoppers and other attractive prey are scarce indoors, so they have to make do with what they have -  ankles and other moving body parts of their human companions.

These grasshoppers are very territorial.

They love blondes too.

My Aunt was bitten by a Copperhead a couple of years ago.  It took her almost a year to get over it.  She was very sick.

Yes, we have Scorpians.  I believe Chuck even has some in his song list.....

Aw, yes I do. From what I hear though, I need to stay away from those particular tunes at least until I quit smoking, if not indefinitely.
