I was a sub for a short time for my buddy when the band he was in had a gig to play, but it was a situation where like mentioned above, I was a regualr anyway and filled in when he needed a bathroom break or something else. Sometimes the crowd came to me to put their request in so that my buddy would be free to run the equipment. The subbing full nights ended when he quit the band.

this happened not to long ago our kj who was having a baby  
and she was only going to be gone two weeks,anyhow a great singer and friend
who always worked the sound with her and was good  :yes:
and was fun to be around .
she asked him to step in .To me it didn't matter if he ran it a little different .
I had missed one week and
some of our own regs complained  :talk:

To me this was so wrong his feelings were hurt
he refuses to come back even to visit. (i can't really blame him )
but for someone to get mad at the fact he had no fast dancing breaks,
Karaoke night is  what it is
this has bothered me for the simple fact that it was only to help
the owner could have said wait untill she gets back
he came in every week.Just to sing. thanks for letting me ramble
but I respect anyone who works or sings or even listens to us every week.
and that  this is supposed to be fun and if it results in making someone
feel bad look bad

Stevie - that is aweful - the poor guy.

When I started at the bar I'm at I constantly heard where's Lou? ( He was the KJ before me)

Lou was a great guy that got burnt out and owned another business he wanted to dedicate all his time to. The regulars loved him!

The regulars already knew me because I sang there almost every Friday and would sub for Lou when he was gone.

Lou asked me to take the gig over for him because he was no longer interested.

If the regulars didn't already know me I would have had an aweful time replacing him. I don't think bar owners appreciate how loyal patrons can be, until they try to switch KJs.
