I'm not a kj but when I sing a song that someone feels that either they could sing better or sing along with me.  Depending on how drunk they are I grab them the other mike but along with taking off the cord.  While the crowd was giggling along with the KJ I still sung my song and just kept getting in front of him.

Seriously, even the good singers need practice.  I found that out last time.  This woman was doing a great duet with her boyfriend.  I think it was Summer Nights.  She sang in a choir.  So I thought we might try "They Can't Take That Away from Me" by Sinatra.  A pretty easy song, really.  She got really nervous.  So it didn't work.  We might try it again sometime.

Most men can't harmonize with me.  I either end up singing too low.  Or they end up singing too high.  Sometimes I will harmonize, like on "Hey Jude."  I must not be doing too well cause so far the other singer doesn't take it seriously.

I recommend that male/female duets take a trip to the car out in the parking lot where they can practice their song.  Take the edge off.  Get lubed up for the show.

Just my two cents.
