For some reason, my relatives seem to have no inhibition about saying things like "wow, you've gained weight!" or "my, you're bigger than you used to be!" (as if it were a topic of general discussion).
If someone tells you that you've 'gained weight' (when it obviously hasn't been a goal of yours), is it then appropriate to respond with something like "And you're really starting to show your age!!"...???
Aww, that's terrible. My dad used to do that, and sometimes my stepmom, too. They were both abusive drunks. The last time I saw them and they said that, I said to myself, well, guess I'm not coming back here again...Anyway, if they are not just kidding, that is really sad and you shouldn't have to put up with it.
I decided I don't like giving the negative comments so I am just going to give positive ones, and if anyone wants to PM or email me, they can get the negative ones. If I don't tell ya to PM or email me, then there weren't any
I will just keep the comments in Notepad and so if anyone contacts me, I can tell them privately and they won't feel so publicly embarrassed, I guess.
Plus it's a lot of work to put into something if no one is going to like it, anyway...
