When I added new songs, I just reprinted the entire 'new song' section to reflect the new material - which were marked with an * to reflect 'just added'. I reprinted the books once a year.

To the op, if you want to do books. Use binders or have a couple of sleeves bound into the front of the books that you can insert the new song list into. That way you don't have to constantly pay for reprinted full books every time you have new music.
