wait a minute.....

you guys have SALES after Thanksgiving?? weird.

American Thanksgiving is a far bigger deal than Canadian... I've noticed.

Ours was October 11 and I didn't do a damn thing. Usually it's just dinner at the parents house and that's it. No parade.... sales... no TV specials. Just kinda like family day I guess. odd.

But I guess we have Boxing Day (why do they call it that?? i'll never know).... which I don't think Americans have. The day after Christmas EVERYBODY has huge sales... I live in Edmonton (which is home to West Edmonton Mall.... which is documented as the biggest mall in the world... I'm pretty sure they've got a website.. look it up! YES it's bigger than Mall of America.. and that place is Fri-jiggin' PACKED on boxing day... yikes... madhouse! I used to work there.)

So ya wanna know what I did yesterday on American Thanksgiving? Abso-freakin'-lutely NUTHIN! hahaha!! But I would like for someone to send me up some pumpkin pie!! mmmm!

oh and as for the "More u drink" animation.... here's a blinkie fer ya!!

Well it's the Monday after and I went to my brothers for Thanksgiving to share a meal and company with his family, our parents, my daughter and her family. Then my daughter followed us home, about an hour and a half drive. Friday all of our kids, except Jason cause he is still in rehab from the accident, came over. They were joined by my parents and my sister-in-law and her family for another meal.

So on the Monday after Thanksgiving I'm eatin' leftovers and gettin' ready to go back to work.....but a large number of people up here in the woods are out tring to shoot a big deer today. It's the first day of buck season in PA and there is no school, some businesses are closed, it's a regular holiday unto it's own.....

Just got back from Colorado last month, and every pickup had one to three deer in the back.
I've hunted there in the past, and they have lots of game.
This year it was a funeral. and I didn't get to hunt.

Boxing Day
The day after Christmas, the Feast of St. Stephen, the first Christian martyr, is better known as Boxing Day. The term may come from the opening of church poor boxes that day; maybe from the earthenware boxes with which boy apprentices collected money at the doors of their masters' clients.

Nowadays, we often see, in certain families, gifts (boxes) given to those who provide services throughout the year.

"Boxing Day" is listed in the Canada Labour Code as a holiday.
