Hmmm...
"To Delete or not Delete - That is a question?"
-----
Okay, Really Now.
Is this necessary?
I have seen several posts in the past few months people saying "Goodbye" - Why? What purpose does it serve?
If there is something that I or any of the Karaoke Scene staff can do to improve the site and your experience on here then please by all means let us know. I am constantly asking for feedback and input from members.
This site is a labor of love for me.
I truly enjoy the good banter, the input that I read and even the simple teasing that goes on. This is all fine and fun. But at times it does get out of hand. That is when I or one of the other moderators steps in and removes or edits a topic.
I have stated it previously that I do not want the Karaoke Scene site, the karaoke forums, or the Singer's Showcase to become a negative atmosphere.
The old cliché "If you have nothing nice to say..." really comes into play!
This is not to say that we don't want you to provide us with your ideas for improvement. That is a valuable critique. If you can offer something to help with the overall development of the site, I certainly want to hear that from anyone.
What I cannot do is change people. No one can. People are different and that we all know. If we were all the same now that would be a very BORING world!
While I would hate to see anyone leave the site, that is their prerogative. You will be missed by some and not by others. Such is life.
I could go on but I think you all know the situation and what I could say so I will leave well enough alone.
Now, could someone help me down off my soapbox!

Phill, what about adding another category called the Playroom or something like that? That's what we did on another forum just for the ones who like to banter back & forth and have fun in. As you can see from all the threads it would be a popular one!
I still can't believe you don't get paid for this! *shaking head

hmmmmm.....Phill, is that the kinda stuff you meant?
I have quoted that old saying (if you don't have something nice to say...)several times in the forums....but then that was before I went on hiatus. So thanks for repeating it, Phill. It obviously NEEDED repeatiing.
Allstar, I havent been around much and I have missed you and Wannabe's singing. But we had subbing plans for after hunting and it won't be the same without the 2 of you.

NHOH, I think most of that was said in sarcastic jest (I'm sure Crystal will set me straight on that if I'm wrong ) Did you read the 'looking for a fight' thread and his kissing butt comments? I think that's where she's coming from....
Greg, only 5 times a day? I think I may just set it as my home page and be done with it!

Phil, not to go on a rant or anything, but there is one thing that I would like to address..
what good does it do to announce leaving?
For one, trying to tell people that what they are doing is basically making the other leave. Maybe to bring about a change. But also for the satisfaction that you're telling people "I'm TIRED of your crap!" For instance, I no longer post subs on the singers showcase. All I have to do is listen to the top ten and go "What the XXXX"... and I'm not telling you anything you don't know, cause you've said it before... It's in the archives.
something about a sub that's rated a 10 and it's clearly a 5. I no longer have the thread as a file, but I know Tig does.
You and the admins may not want the site to become a site of negativity, but it's some MEMBERS that are already doing that... we're just not retaliating. OR making our opinions noted clearly enough... mostly out of the common sense that it will NOT make a damned bit of difference one way or another.
I will say, I miss the s.s. a lot. If you make a sub have an option for no comments at all, I'll gladly rejoin. I just got tired of the fluff and no substance from SOME members... they'd say the same thing to a sub that was clearly not all that, and yet, here's a sub that I did that wasn't terrible, but sure as heck wasn't as bad as SOME of the others I've seen that are getting TENS!
My two cents... don't have a third to give.
Matt

Ok, I realize that I came to my friends' defense too quickly. After reading other threads, I now realize that this one is mostly in jest. (Im glad...I hated to see AS and Wannabe go!)
You may all go back to your derogatory remarks now.
I promise to get the whole story before jumping in next time.
Now back to our regularly scheduled bantering......

Sorry you feel that way (about this site becoming boring). I have felt that way on occasion too, and even said "Farewell" but I finally made a decision to stay simply because of the friendships I have developed here and the fact that there will always be occasional lulls. Besides, there is usually a lot more action and intrigue here than on TV (and the so-called reality programs). Maybe it will take some time away to recharge the batteries?

Just popped back for a second...
Knightshow -
Those are some really great and heated posts. I can remember those and there were a few others as well.
Also, FYI - I am working on adding a no comment check box to the submit page. Then you will be able to submit your song without ranks or comments - just for others to listen to! One other item I am going to add is a Critique check box. This way if you do want comments and would like anyone to give you advise on improvement just check that box.
Any other ideas?
Anyone??
I really like getting suggestions for improvement.
BTW - I am still working on the ranking (changing it to Stars)
Phill

I have a feeling more than just knightshow will come back and ENJOY submitting again without the tit4tat games... just sit back and listen and enjoy without pressure to listen to EVERYONE and comment on all... those that need comments can still opt to allow comments/rankings as they see fit... yayyyyyyyyyyy -tig

absolutely!
thanks for being so open-minded Phill, and I will admit, I'll be very happy to be subbin' my songs, but not in any kind of a contest with anyone.
I love the critique angle too.
You da MAN buddy! Thanks for being there!

Call me confused, but don't we already have that option? I listen to songs all the time and don't comment and I know that people listen to mine and don't comment. What am I missing here?
...and did you pick up my stuff at the store..............how come you didn't answer the phone?...dammit i told you to take it in the store with you!!

well, Jeanne, I guess some people feel pressured to comment on every sub so that they'll get comments on theirs..... and so, If ou're just commentin' to COMMENT, then it's usually a lotta fluff n smoke blowin' so most would rather NOT have people comment on their own subs..... make sense?

no............... JK!
Well, as I'm not one of those people I don't feel pressured, I comment when and where I want but I do think that some people may feel they have to comment on mine after I do theirs, but as Sheree once said before, I don't want them to feel that way, but who's to say?
Now, then...why did Matt get so upset when no one commented on his sub? Well, except for me of course and I don't remember who else....

because at that time, the way the site was being ran, it was painfully obvious if you were in a certain group, you got listened to. My signature is my own form of joke against that very thing. To be painfully honest, I wish the whole rating sytem would go away... Tig and I come from a martial arts background, and if there's one thing that's inherantly "western", it's the concept of ranking and status. Nobody's content to be a lowbelt! ! They have to have a purple or a red! !
Remove that option, where I can sub and just say I don't care who listens, then I'm happy. I think this option will remove many of the negatives that have plagued the site.
