I am all for back catalog tracks... new stuff doesn't go well with my older crowd...
Don't neglect the new stuff, but I agree with Cueball that older stuff might be just what the doctor ordered.
As for the FUD stuff.. I dunno if that was directed at me, but let me state how I feel about SC:
I like them. I have a lot of their product those tracks get used often. I'm sorry they left and stopped producing music 6 years ago, it was a hard blow for me. I want new material from them, but the game has changed and they need to catch up. I can't/won't blindly hand over my money and hope for the best. I am not crazy about what they have become, but a company getting ripped off by so many pirates makes them a little bitter about things. I am NOT crazy about all the lawsuits, but understand them. and hopefully they don't hurt the little guys they sue. I DO NOT LIKE the CB move.
And again, I wish them all the best in their return, and hope they succeed, we desperately need new tracks worthy of our shows. But they have a lot to prove to me before being my go to line again and giving them my hard earned money. It's simply business, the loyalty has to be earned again as it's been awhile. I wont hold back on what I say, that's why they are here on the forum... and if I'm wrong, I'll concede to it and move on, or ask for clarification. (edited)

I don't believe that they will ever be able to release the "back catalog" since they sold that to Stingray Digital in 2007...
If you were Stingray and you just paid a few million for it, wouldn't you want to make sure that they wouldn't be able to compete with you.. with the same item you just paid for?

In this case, I'm not talking about re-do of the old catalog... but other tracks from artists they haven't done yet (ex: Pearl Jam's Yellow Ledbetter)

The response hasn't been what we'd hoped, but we gave it a shot, and we'll find another way to make it happen. If we miss the goal, we'll do one of three things: Kick in the rest of production costs from our funds, simply refund the money, or offer you a choice to get a refund or get credits to use later on new production. If we offer the choice, we'll probably offer 10 or 12 credits (or the equivalent; depends on how our credit system ends up working) for the $30. Regardless, if we decide not to kick in production costs, you'll definitely have the option of a full refund. I guess "the market has spoken...." with their wallets.

That disc (all Pearl Jam) is getting harder to find, but it's been out and available since around 2004 - I see it pop up on e-bay every once in a while and never overly priced. That song while once overdone, isn't even a hot item anymore (at least at my show).

I'd personally Sing 'Wooden Jesus' until the track wears out! Another great karaoke CD at the time was the Top Tunes Evenesence CD. I think we did every track on that disc in one night when it first came out.

Quote: Yes per the publishers the Tropical Zone SCDG's are licensed properly...and yes I have listened to the previews and they sound decent as I said I just prefer DISCS in my hands for resale and want it for the lowest price possible....why would I spend more $$$ to buy Tropic Zone from PartyTyme when I can legally buy from Tropic Zone directly ? I just checked and the Tropical Zone web site is closed and they were taken down from Tricerasoft as well. Where did you order from? eBay?

I guess I slid in under the wire,? or maybe I just ruined it for other that may want Latin Karaoke by posting that info here ?
And although they are higher priced than my 5 SCDG's for $99 there are plenty available from Amazon at this time as well.
BTW Amazon is cheaper than ebay on these Latin Discs for anyone looking. You have ruined many things with your meddling.

I Think You Speak of "Karaokanta" not Karaokantana... All Their Latest Music ... "Karaokanta Live", is NOW ( ) by Subscription Only... Too Bad Because They Were My GoTo for Downloads Last Year...

We get a fair number of requests for Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, and Nirvana. (even hear "Stardog Champion" by Mother Love Bone now and then). They are Seattle area grunge bands so of course they get requested more often in my area. I am sure there are lots of other regional differences. Just like there is more country performed in some areas than others. I see that even in in this area. More country performed north of Seattle than in Seattle proper. I wonder if the east coast gets any requests for Crack The Sky. I would love to have "Techni Generation" as karaoke.

Tropical Zone was bought by the parent company of Party Tyme which is why. They will be a part of karaoke.net now.

Almost everyone in the bar stops what they are doing when that song starts the intro. Great song..

Crack The Sky was (is) an east coast band and was pretty popular during that time. "Techni Generation" was the most popular song I heard from them. Pre-cursor to the New Wave - Alt Rock scene.
