hi Jazzy....
I understand your point of view and if the rating thing is here to stay then yes.... I think your idea is a good one. My comments were not meant to be argumentative. I suppose it seemed that way with my "3 cheers for tiggr" for that, I apologize. I'm just puttin my two cents in.

Tigr.. i'm not upset that you have an opinion.. on the contrary i'm glad  but i just didn't understand why you were posting such a negative post on a thread that wasn't about bickering over the rating system or people getting upset over those who are not commenting.. that's what i was trying to say.. I don't understand why people have to fight over this stuff.. This i repeat IS NOT a thread that was started to have a debate.. it was merely a discussion of a different approach to the rating.. i again.. say for the 50 millionth time i TOO would rather see no rating.. but there is no sense in anyone arguing over it anymore or fighting to try to make everyone see that his/her point is right.. Noone is right, as we are all differnet and what we get out of this site is subjective to personal preference.. and we are all here for different reasons.. some like the ratings so those people have to have their needs met just as well as everyone who doesn't like the ratings (and this is met already) so the ratings will most likely stay, and I am cool with that, and I wish everyone else would be too... I was just trying to open up a discussion about an idea to help the rating system be a more fun thing and more positive than negative..that may help to stop the bickering that sometimes occurs from time to time...that is ALL this thread is about..

Wow! I am glad too see that on the second page at least this topic started to turn around!
First, I do not know about other sites, as I do not moderate or operate any of them (Plus I didn't design them {Dangitall}) Here at Karaoke Scene, we, welcome the input of comments and ideas from everyone. Paying member or not! <<You cheap skates!>>
I have read this topic - and I think I see your points - also, I didn't really see where anyone was bring up negativity. The rating scale has been one of several debates, as previously mentioned. I am currently working on a new method (which will be stars 1-5) as you may have read about in another topic. I feel that this may be better alternative to a 1-10 scale. Yes, I realize that it is still a rank, but hopefully I will be able to calculate in other factors (Rating / Comments / Listens) but we shall see.
(Okay now for my book...)
Further, let me address a few items:
JazzyBaggs - Oh now I see what you were saying(typing) comments vs clicks! Do'Oh! That does make better sense.
BHB - Yes, you did bring up something very similar to what has been suggested here and so did a few others. However, it was implemented for basically the reasons that I stated earlier in this topic. And I state, regardless of whether or not someone is a paid member I appreciate everyones input.
Crystal - I hope you realize that for the most part everyone here is a bit NUTZ! We enjoy teasing and using a bit of sarcasim. Maybe you don't have that in Canada?! 
Tigrr - See what you have started! The rating system seems to be liked by some and not by others. That is why awhile back due to several suggestions of the members, I made an option for those that didn't want to be rated to check a box.
Everyone Else - If I missed responding to you directly in this post, to you, I apologize. With exception of knightshow Please keep the ideas coming - whether I implement them or not is not a direct insult to you. There is probably a valid reason that it was not or has not yet.

tgrr, wowww and i thought i was the only person that shouted at my computer screen when i got to the forum ol....you have some very valid points and with many of them i agree with you...i did however like the idea of jazzy's because many times i am blown away and can never find enough words or have enough space to say just how much their performance rocked ma boat hehehe.... comments are very important and sometimes i myself get a bit pis..narked that many who scream on here about certain things DO NOT comment but to me that just shows their ignorance especially as they are actively commenting on other subs above and below ...but slowly over time you do gain your reg listeners and you begin to appreciate their support and comments and then you gain your special little friendships....as for ratings nah nah they aint for me either...and your right about little cliques giving each other 10's all the way but that never narks me because everyone who subs a song has achieved something.....oh and yeah i have said before EMI aint waiting at the door its not a competition....so T i do agree with many of your thoughts and once again i am glad people are allowed to have this freedom of speech here cause tell ya what T you are on the best site for what you have said somewhere else ya would have had more than the sarcastic comments you got from the gents above sweetie hehehe
