I have heard crazy (@$%&#!) on ocassion but I have never had the desire to sing it in public. Maybe it's out of respect for my mother and maybe it's because I respect myself and maybe it's out of respect for the other people in the bar that would prefer NOT to hear it.
I have sung it at home once and I guess I just don't get it. I don't seem to get any kind of extra thrill out of singing a song with "blue" language in it. Most of the people that I have heard singing it couldn't carry a tune in a bucket so maybe they just want to shock their audience because they wouldn't even be noticed otherwise and they couldn't get any attention from them any other way. I always feel sorry for them for their desperate need for attention of any kind.
I'm no prude by any stretch but when I go to karaoke, I'm expecting Bill Cosby type entertainment and not Andrew "DICE" Clay entertainment. It usually get's sung after 11:30, by the younger crowd. And the place goes NUTS, everybody joins in, dancing around, etc. Probably not your kind of party.

Civilty has left the building, and shock and vulgarity has taken it's place .......... forever, I fear. When people have to....need to...behave poorly to have fun that is why "bar karaoke" has such a negative impression in so many "karaoke haters" minds. And just think, you are promoting our negative image. I'm glad I'm old and don't feel the need to swear because it's fun.

Rome lasted 800 years before the kids started wearing their togas below their waist . That was then and this is now.

I was getting at as popular as the song was, I never had a single 'written' request from singers to get it - I have a clipboard singers write their requests down and I put them all into a database. You might not have received a request for that song because the regulars at your show already know the policies regarding that type of song. I'm sure the regulars know, but I get new singers all the time that do not know the rules and I would think if they wanted to sing it, they'd ask.

Rule of thumb. If you wouldn’t say those obscene four letter words in front of your mother, don’t say it on stage. (especially when children are present). my

And the older folks are some of the worst offenders when singing "dirty" songs.

It depends on who is singing the song also, first time I heard the (@$%!) cat song a guy was singing and the patrons hated it. So for the longest time I wouldn't allow it in the show. Then a very senior couple sang it by request, and the crowd thought it was cute. Go figure. Still songs like Colt 45 and Two Zigzags will not be playing anytime soon at any of my shows.

Tens of thousands and sometimes well over one hundred thousand songs to pick from and some people will always look for the 20 songs that are guaranteed to offend someone in the crowd; as if no other songs were ever produced. Your song choices reflect on the type of person you really are. Not much different than the guy who ONLY sings songs that are over 8 minutes long.

I'm always venue-specific on this one. I make sure to ask the owner/manager ahead of time, when I'm starting a new show, what their policy on profanity is. One of my gigs actively encourages it, several don't care, and several are family-friendly chain restaurants that simply won't allow it. I cater to whoever is paying me, of course, so I will enforce as is necessary.
That said, there are a few songs that I've had to nix from my restaurant shows. "Crazy B*tch" is one -- "F Her Gently", Lonely Island's "I'm On A Boat" (been burned on this one before -- seasoned regulars swear they can edit themselves, but it appears damn near impossible for them), Adam Sandler's "At A Medium Pace", or anything where swearing is integral to the main hook of the song ("B&tch" by Meredith Brooks, the Buckcherry song, etc).
