Mckyj57,

Doesn't sound like you need this, but thought I'd offer it in case you could use it. I have a VB6 program that will read the file tree of a folder and create a CSV (Comma Separated Values) file for importing into a spreadsheet. It doesn't care about the order, eg,

CB9028-04 - Artist, The - Title of Song, The.zip

just that each of the 3 "fields" are separated by a "space dash space". Source available. There's nothing special about the source that I need to worry about revealing a trade secret.

I use Perl to do essentially the same thing. Thanks for the offer -- I have it covered. 8-)

i have the same thing (a free program) that will make rtf file songbooks;

http://dkusa.com/FreeBookLink/FreeBook.exe

If you point to the bottom of a tree it gets only that, point it to an entire drive and it will recurse the drive gathering all the file names. You can use whatever extension you want as long as the base name is correct. It also leaves a couple CSV files when it's done.
