Biggest problem is like roadrage, Internet "chatroom" rage exists and it's easy to forget things we'd NOT forget assuming we were face to face with others. Where else can a petite female tell a male 4X her size to blow it out his a@@ without (in most cases) having to fear reprisal ? (that is assuming they aren't married, or intimately involved with one-another) ![LMAO LMAO](./images/smilies/emot-LMAO.gif) [/quote]
Good point Steven...in response to where else can a petite female tell a big guy off.. well, it happened to me, in a karaoke bar with the same man twice..I guess I am who I am on or offline... ![lol lol](./images/smilies/emot-LOL.gif) ol

Okay. I'm gonna lay this one out in the open now.
I don't like personal statements made from a singer or subber picking and choosing who they want to reply to after a comment has been made. It indicates that there's a problem between the individuals in a public way. Not a good way to get a point across IMO. That's WTF we have the PM feature in here for....if ya got a problem, see a psychiatrist, or just PM me instead.
And I am not saying this $**t to openly embarrass anyone, but the person involved knows d*mned well WTF I'm talking about! If ya don't wanna be friendly anymore, stay TF off of my songs, and I'll stay TF off of yours! No need to indicate to others that there's "anything" between us! Never was, never will be!
I fell for the....oh, we gotta talk, and hey, we need to chit-chat crap. All that got me was a text message on my cellphone later that was intercepted by my wife! Part of the reason this pc karaoke thing is a crime around my house now! Get over it! I'm not available!
I'm just here to sing, if people wanna listen, fine. If not, I'm not begging anyone. But I guarantee, I'll treat everyone with the same respect while I convey my thanks for their time. No sudden urges to make any blatent unknown statements.(like I am right now). What cracks me up right now is, the old saying that an offender is always the first to appear in denial.
And for the "crybabies" of SS.....I guarantee if I ever have to go "listen only", it won't be because I'm throwing a tantrum because I didn't get enough comments on my weak songs.
So hey everyone, nice to meet ya! (again)
Thought I better lay some ground rules....just in case.
What? You don't like me anymore?
Oh noooo.....that really bites my a$$. ![Devil ppfftt :ppfftt:](./images/smilies/pppfft.gif)

I'm pretty sure I know what/who you're talking about. (atleast... in regards to the SS whining) I don't know who the hell is texting you, but it's not me, so I wont worry 'bout it:) ... (unless, of course, you wish to PM me the dirty details, Lmao)
But you made for some interesting reading & made me curious enough to dig through SS... had some listens while I was there too:)
You're cool Perry... nothing at all wrong with speaking your mind or having a rant when you need one. (lord knows I've had a few here...) :D
![hug ](./images/smilies/emot-hug.gif) .... Have a great day.

Psst... What are you two wearing ?
Seriously, I can't stand politics and ego aspects in venues that are supposed to be fun. Some of us take singing and music much more seriously than others here so we sing elsewhere since SS IS NOT just about singing, it's more about who likes, or wishes to interact with whom. Some don't take part in any groups and as a result wouldn't be happy in the showcase... KS is political, doesn't seem that's going to end. While all can enter, those that are concerned with popularity will at some point get into trouble since popularity is a transient thing (just how stuff works on the internet).. The "King and Queen" today, often are the most disliked down the road, and vice versa.. Such behaviour is usually quite polarized, and the more one expects and invests, the more there is that often ends up getting crushed.. Friendships and personal stuff is best kept private. While some offer stuff to their friends in such venues, they also offer same to those that hate them, and yes, some actually hate others. "Strong word" or not does not change the reality of certain individuals feelings. I don't divulge personal aspects of my "reality" outside of a singing context for this reason in public. In most cases interaction in real life isn't experienced and witnessed by as vast a population as these forums. Songs, and posts here are exposed and judged. Some claim they don't care...So I suppose if that is the case, little matters. If you're sensitive about certain issues, best NOT to divulge them !

That being said, that was the only reason I brought this whole thing up. A person comes to rely on certain people as being a "friend" in the venue, and when that appears to change for some reason unknown, that's when the drama starts.
Maybe I was mistaken as being offensive in a comment or reply to that person?
Maybe I was more friendly to someone else? Who knows?
Maybe the whole thing was just a misunderstanding?
But I kinda doubt that, because I always go back and read comments and replies if they're there.
And to watch the replies on a sub being delivered or not delivered with intention over a few days means disrespect to me when it was someone who I assumed was a "friend".
So maybe I'm being a crybaby too.
I just don't like drama, and wanted to state the fact.
But I don't retract anything I've already said....I meant it.
I'm done here. ![2 cents :2cents:](./images/smilies/twocents.sml.gif)

Quote: Sometimes as an impartial observer I get sucked in and before you know it, I'm upset. Not always possible to remain impartial. So I look at the persons avatar (assuming the individual is being a pain in the butt) and let out the expletives, IE.. "Stupid dumbxit", followed with, "you $(#)$ #)$)#)$, go fall off the face of the earth, don't your realize very few care?", and then I feel better ![Smile :)](./images/smilies/icon_smile.gif) If that doesn't work I just PM or Email a few (I currently perceive as friends) and trash the person ![Smile :)](./images/smilies/icon_smile.gif) Cuz it's just the type of person I am. Quote: A person comes to rely on certain people as being a "friend" in the venue and when that appears to change for some reason unknown, that's when the drama starts. Don't "rely" on strangers here for anything Perry. Most here are just that. Names we've seen on a screen day after day aren't necessarily friends. It's sometimes better to visualize many of these critters as "Cartoon Characters" rather than "friends". Detach until you get to know them OUTSIDE of what is just an internet venue.. If you haven't spoken with them in person, have never seen the windows to their soul, how do you know they even have a soul ? because they know how to type and can be chamelions ? That is easy ! What they type in your comment box often has strings attached (sometimes in THEIR mind a comment telling you how fabulous you are, means there's now a tacit contract you don't dare comment on their enemies sub because after all EVERYBODY on the internet has ESP, and knows how others feel).. Yes, It's just that stupid in some of these forums.. A few try to control who is friends (or interacts) with whom. Ridiculous control fixations are evident to some of us. Comments on subs are just something all the world can see, they can be impersonal (under a guise of personal), and often a lie. Board games are more honest.. IF we would've been able to get a REAL critiquing place going leaving BS aside it might've helped bridge the gap, but where there's noticeably so little honesty, HOW can you expect the individuals that participate in a game to be "true friends" ? I think in such a case you'll find (as with in real) MOST are selfish avoiding "real" in favor of fantasy, and using others as a popularity gage only, often many of these individuals have nothing else in their lives... It's ONLY TYPE, don't lose perspective and assume friends exist where they do not. Quote: Maybe I was mistaken as being offensive in a comment or reply to that person? Maybe I was more friendly to someone else? Who knows?
Yep, MANY have expectations, and "who knows" is correct. Seems foolish having expectations in such forums though, because it's quite possible that socially retarded losers (nobody likes in real), or asocial even antisocial individuals playing an interactive game (assuming they have a knack for typing and composition) might love the ease in such a venue of exploiting another person emotionally, or just using them as a dartboard. "Friendships" on the internet are tougher than friendships in real, they take a LONG time, some do luck out but without at least voice contact, or being able to see facial expression one never really knows what is genuine vs just easily delivered type in nice etiquette format (just a presentation game)... many aren't that sincere... In a few cases supposed friends I thought I had for several years turned out being typed fantasy characters, and in one case, somebody we'd least expected to be the type to BS (after thinking we knew this girl quite well after seeing consistency and warmth in interaction for 5 years) turned out to be a person that never existed by name, or description in her supposed location (assuming this was even a female).. Those that've had ISPs or IPs (such as AOL) see over time how much deception actually goes on on the internet.. Some love to play with others heads.. I've learned to expect almost anything at anytime to happen (from people I've never at least talked to in person), callouses build after years of internet interaction... Because some DO remain very detached, while it's often obvious who gets too close, and is being genuine, it's not easy to see who's screwing with others. Some great bullxitters are on the Internet, and as a result I'm VERY careful about what content I present openly, making sure I don't expose any nerve endings that might get jabbed in such vast public venues. My singing to me is real, it leaves me vulnerable, and SS is the last place I'd wish to share it for reasons mentioned..JMO.. I don't like overt lying and cliquish behaviour, but on the internet the biggest cowards in real life can attempt to be "King and Queen" assuming they can present themselves in typed format.. Just what I've learned from 30 years of experiencing computer behaviour of somewhat anonymous folk, (Yes, computer chat venues existed in "Basic" assuming systems were interfaced in the mid 1970's) Quote: So maybe I'm being a crybaby too.
I personally do not think it's wrong to call insincerity when you spot it. There are many newer than yourself (regarding these types interactive venues) who are also too trusting, with expectations among behaviour often elusive. It's just not a smart thing to count on such a venue for true friendship unless you have pretty low standards of what a friend truly is. Give people time to prove they are fake, and in most cases the fakes will not let you down. Inconsistency shows in most :)

Whoa Steven! That was a brainful!
It's obvious now that I fell for the drama. I probably should've just pm'd the person myself for a better insight as to what their real motive was.
I said it wasn't really a big deal to me, except that it makes others wonder....what's up with that? Was I at fault in some way? etc...etc....
Big deal....I was skipped over in replies....not something to get emotional about.
Some people have even recently stopped commenting on my work. (before this)
Were they just fluffing me all along because I'm such a nice guy?
Or does any mild popularity I might have around here get their FTLs in a wedgie?
And women, I have no idea what's on their minds. I've been married almost 26 years, and everyday is still a new experience.......psychologically speaking.
So the incident I made a big deal about here when it really wasn't could've been an oversight, or maybe the person just didn't know how to reply to my comment? I'd say I went overboard here really.
But if I'm right about the intention, atleast the person knows I'm aware now. And that I don't like games......only sex games. ![LMAO LMAO](./images/smilies/emot-LMAO.gif) LMAO
If I was really a jerk, I could've spilled the beans with much more information here, and the person I'm referring to, but I'm just not that mean spirited.
But why not? It's only the internet?
Fact is, I happen to like it here.....whether or not a couple or a few people fly the PDawg coop. I just happen to notice alot of things about people here. Some are sincere....others just fish for comments on their own work before they give you the time of day....etc...etc.....not too hard to figure out. And not something that really hurts my itty bitty feelings.
What really hurts is giving fabulous comments to a singer just because they've always been "on the friendly side" of me, when the work in question is almost laughable. But I see it all day long in SS. I see commenters that seem to beat around the bush by not mentioning much about the singing, but are just being friendly. Or just flat out FLUFFING the singer. It's not a good thing for the singer in question. It gives illusions of grandeur that will eventually break that person's spirit in an environment other than SS.
I would rather people didn't feel obligated to me at all if my work is laughable or not really pleasing to their ears.
And I can't for the life of me figure out why some view the total number of comments on their work as a basis for their own talent?
I know when my work isn't quite right....wrong voice....wrong emotion....bad dynamics...etc...etc....and I give skeptical replies to any comments made to me. It's not that I don't believe in myself totally....I just know when I SUCK!!
And for anyone to get upset and throw tantrums when their work is less than desirable is beyond me and shows that the singer is in some kind of fantasyland.
People say this is all for fun, but in reality, we all want to sing well and be noticed by others....period. Why would I want to waste so much time trying to sing if I wasn't just a bit serious about it? C'mon people. The fun stuff is out in the bars gettin' drunk and having your friends laugh at you when you slurred the words or lost your timing because a hot POA just crossed your path and rendered you speechless.
And as always....anywhere.....hard rock or metal should be sang HARD! Not in falsetto or headvoice unless a particular verse or chorus calls for it.
That's JMO. If I was out in a bar and sang Metallica or Disturbed totally in headvoice, I'd expect people to laugh at me.
That's why, if I don't feel comfortable commenting to someone, I'm probably not going to.....whether they're an internet "friend" or not. And I expect the same in return. But it's not hard to figure out dark behavior either. It's to be expected from some.
This whole post I guess is just to let others know....I'm onto ya. I'm not some dumb hick. I have a degree in psychology from the "college of life". It's not uncommon behavior.
Thanks Steven for your always enjoyable to read input, but I don't think I was ever as mad as you about any of this. ![LMAO LMAO](./images/smilies/emot-LMAO.gif) :jk:
