Sometimes it will actually get someone up to the stage to stand behind a singer to 'play the guitar' that may not normally get up at all & may build enough nerve to get them up on their own singing - have seen this happen on occasion.

That's a very good point.  Nothing like seeing a regular non-singing customer finally come around and start singing.  Normally I like to convince them to "help" their friend with a song and eventually after doing that a few times they get enough courage to do it on their own.   :hi5:

And then you could have someone that wants to pretend they are the "WHO" and smash all the instruments. Possibly hurting themselves or others. Leading to legal trouble for you and the bar owner. You supplied the weapon. .

No different than supplying a book of songs, those binder covers can be torn out & flung like shingles.  Mic stands, mics can be used as a weapon.  Heck the mic cords as well.  THen you got what the bar readily supplies nightly...bottles, glasses, ashtrays (for the smoking bars).  Yep these aren't as dangerous as the fake guitar props.

Last nights job has turned into a napkin throwing contest.  The floor at the back of the bar was white with napkins.

If it was my bar...you're all buying a case of napkins...every one of you will have it added to your tab.  Case closed.  Don't like it???? Don't do it.  It's pretty simple.

The same bar had a bunch of jerks that want to slam down their drink glass as hard as they can on the bar, when they finish their shots.  Usually breaking the glass.  Guess what, it's going on your tab..

Another bar had a drink coaster throwing thing going.  I told the bartender (her mom owns the bar) about the liability if someone gets hit in the eye.  A coaster could really hurt you in the right place.  So i strongly suggested she put a stop to it.

All this stuff is coming from 25 years and up to late 50s age group.  ALCOHOL induced stupidity.  It's real funny until the wrong person gets hit and then you're going to get hit, and not by a napkin or a coaster.
