Sure they give the illusion of making you happy, whenever they are taking all your money. Shut off the dough and see how long you feel happy and loved. :O The only thing you'll feel is the DIVORCE notice stabbing you repeatedly in your wallet.

Yeah, I suppose you may be right Bro, I don;t know though, we have been going through some rough times the last couple of years and still hanging in there. Things will turn around again as long we don;t have 5 hurricanes in one year again and it keeps getting cold up Nawth. I figure that if she was going she would have gone a long time ago when I was taking of my Mom in a nursing home for years with Alzheimers and draining or finances down to a pittance and running myself through the wringer emotionally. I have a feeling this one is a life sentence, no parole...
You know, there are some happy endings in love and life still. People do mature and get over worrying about themselves and start living for the other folks in their fasmily and find that self sacrifice carries it's own special rewards. I guess growing up with hippy parents sort of gave me a different perspective in some ways but I have never really been too into having stuff to make me happy, it's really more about people in my life and I hope it always will be...
Whatever works for you though, everybody is different and my life isn't the way for most folks to go probably. It makes me happy though and that's what counts.

With me it's not so much about "having stuff", it's about respect and consideration......THOSE are things I've learned to demand.
I spent my life ignoring the "stuff" I wanted and made sacrifices only to come home several times to discover my home gutted and bank account empty.
Well, this time the first thing I bought myself was a shotgun, and the next thing I did then was place my back against the wall and draw a line in the sand.
No more disrespect, no more selfish and inconsiderate people, no more me ignoring me.
With those new standards I'm certain to meet others like me.....I will have no trouble recognizing them either.....You can't hide pride and confidence.

No more disrespect, no more selfish and inconsiderate people, no more me ignoring me. Yep, this is MOST important ! If somebody only wants my money and is using me, to me safer sex, and a relationship even more balanced would be with a prostitute ! I've made the mistake of thinking I loved (and was loved by) women that just wanted money, gone thru the emotional hell of that mistake. If I want takers in my life, I can take my phone off've the "Do not call list". I want friends, people that can care... While I can't demand respect, I can demand people in my life that will allow that to at least be earned over time. When it happens, that's OK, when it doesn't, I learned to be alone, and I mean REALLY alone, I slept on the streets years back, learned that when in pain, I AM alone ! I don't have or want many aquaintances in real to me that's boring.. I don't like "fair-weather" people around. I have internet accounts for that type of person, but I just goof around with that type, don't consider them friends.. I don't need to be popular, liked, and I learned to live by myself YEARS ago, I spend the holidays alone, and EVERY day alone, it's more peaceful to me, I don't feel comfortable eating at the same table with others either, I'm truly a loner..with a few that care a phone-call away, and seldom do I wish for them to be closer.. I learned I AM ALONE. Many people in my life have just made this evident. Many I know tho *are* afraid to be by themselves, or alone and that's a scary place to be in life assuming it makes a person so desparate that they settle for others that rob and use... Not saying I don't get lonely, that's normal.. but what's really lonely is spending time in dying or unhealthy relationships.. Alone, and "own space" is peaceful.. THAT is my need. Quote: Sure they give the illusion of making you happy
That's only because we fall for the illusion first that THEY have the ability to make us happy. When takers get too close, who's fault is it for letting them get that close ? The perception to spot good caring people is difficult, especially for those of us that spent so much of our lives in "the night scene". Talk about looking for needs to get met in wrong places...
The sex-drive is a messed up thing too... sex, passion, and romance aren't usually "friendship".. Maybe I'll be ready to marry at 75. Still too young.
Keith, we disagreed about 2 years back on "being alone" and not taking risks.. This is why I stay alone, and don't take risks.. Fantasy and reality get cluttered, reality is unhealthy relationships are REAL draining..Been there too.
Heck, of course I want to be LOVED.. who doesn't ? But need can be what keeps us from finding somebody that can love us when we act on the need without really thinking certain things thru. I don't see cars or homes as big investments... Committing myself to a person however IS. If I can't give that commitment, I can't ask for it.. People know what's up. Some need to be by themselves...I'd rather type to you guys from my bed, than be in bed sleeping together alone with somebody that doesn't like me.
All this profundity is giving me gas !

Yeah Keith, I used to have a saying 'Do a friend a favor, make an enemy'. While it is not always true I've found that there are SO many people that will take advantage of you when you are nice, considerate, and do kind things for them. I've been taken advantage of SO many time. You learn there are the types of people that really appreciate and respect what you did, and those that just think you are weak. The key is to learn to tell the difference. I'll give just about anyone a chance once or twice, but after they make a fool of you 3+ times it is time to wise up. Besides you only have 2 cheeks to turn.

A few of these terms aren't in my Yankee dictionary I have to Wiki it to find what it means: Quote: Whale tail is a phrase describing the waistband of a thong or g-string when visible above the waistline of low-rise pants, shorts, or a skirt creating a shape resembling a whale's tail. The appearance of a whale tail is not always intentional.

Charmin ain't got no "whale tail".....I ain't defending her, just pointing out her handicap.
The good news is she has potential. :yum: If the right guy fed her well and gave her proper encouragement, she might blossum into a killer lookin tongue-biter that guys would follow off a cliff. You would think that a gal from the cold pac west would have the genetics necessary to keep her man warm and interested.
Cuz Cactus, I need to buy some furniture. This big ole house is so empty it's starting to echo.

You boys are out of control. I wouldn't be doing my civic duty if I did not report this immediately. :D
Keith, I have no intention of fattening my arse for anyone. I have plenty of cushion back there and get my share of stares and whistles. Having a huge, wide badonkadonk holds no interest for me. I'll stick with what I got, thank ya very much. So you just stuff someone else with potatoes and gravy....

I never had any intention of fattening my arse either. Just a nuance or knack I suppose made it easier to do as I got older. I'm just a natural when it comes to certain things !
