The owner of the bar does the "Grinch". It is extra funny because it's kind of fitting.  LMAO

Milo your "Santa Baby" is awesome ! it sounds like a professional recording.

I will have to listen to you guys' subs sometime!  (I can't right now, 'cause I'm at work.)

There are LOTS of holiday songs that I like.  I like most of them, really.  The most fun I ever had singing Christmas songs was when my son Jonathan was a baby and his first Christmas rolled around.  When he and I were in the car or just around the house, the kid got to hear me sing every Christmas song I could remember.   (Sometimes he probably wished mommy would shut up!   LOL )

Next month, Jonathan has a birthday and hits the big 1-0!  Time flies!

The best Christmas song ever, and one that not many people have heard...

"Fairytale of New York" by the Pogues with the late Kristy MacColl helping on some vocals

I don't know that one, but I have her last solo album "Tropical Brainstorm".  She had a nice voice and the album has some good songs.  I picked it up at a rummage sale where you could fill a bag of stuff for $5--so I grabbed all the CD's they had (about 6 in all), even the ones by artists I'd never heard of, and put 'em in the bag w/the rest of the stuff I was buying.  (As it turns out, I had heard one of her songs on National Public Radio before that.)

One other favorite of mine is to sing is " You're A Mean One Mr. Grinch" if there are children around.  Actually I sing it without children around too.

Have any of you ever heard Deanna Kirk's version?  It's really cute! My son loves it too.  I first heard it on a Christmas compilation CD, which I wound up getting.  Later I bought one of her CD's.  She's a very talented lady.

The beauty of that song, aside from the whimsical blend of Irish and Christmas music, is the bizarre contrast of Shane MacGowan's smoke and whiskey ravaged vocals with Kristy's angelic, elf sounding voice.  Check it out on youtube:

and a more raucus live version on St Paddy's day 1988

I wish there were more Pogues songs available on karaoke....

Is it just me or is it hard to understand what words he's singing.

I don't want to be negative here, so I'll just say it was very hadiejc8uo*s and interesting. LMAO

Are you talking about the Pogues videos?  Yes, its difficult to understand the drunken sod, but he's a likable fella and as you can see from the enthusiam they draw, quite entertaining.  Very sweet song for an Irish punk band.
