south island has little humidity
where I live the climate is temperate. in winter sure we get frosts but day time temps are normally between 8 & 15 c
summer is also not too hard to live with with temps anything from mid 20s to mid 30s c

20 mins from a very wild rugged coastline and 40 mins to the skifield
1hour from the largest city in sth island and international airport
the perfect place
unemployment is 0.4% in other words only the unemployable are unemployed, in fact most businesses are finding it impossible to fill jobs
house prices for a nice area range from late $200,000s to $400,000 NZ$ our dollar is stitting bout 72cents US

Stephen do a Google search on 'live music capitol of the world'. It will mostly be full of pages on Austin

I was going to suggest Austin too... I've never been there, but we've been thinking of moving there too. Only thing is, I'm afraid it's mostly a 'country' music scene.. which, well... blech. But maybe it's not. One can have hope. ;)

No, definitely not. There's all types here. Austin is really more of a progressive rather than country town. It's always been that way - probably due to the University and state government center. A popular slogan here on T shirts, etc is 'Keep Austin Weird'.

I'd probably be doing the city a favor assuming I moved there in this case
