Dennis dahlin I gotta quick question for you...the jukebox software you put me onto that I installed onto the hotel's laptop...as its winamp based, would it not run karaoke as well? I mean, could I not just create a folder to put cdg+mp3 files into...load them into the playlist and have a graphics screen appear? Surely so long as there was a picture in that folder and the cdg plugin was installed all would be ok??? I thought I would save myself some grief by asking first, cos I dont wanna start trying to rip their scdg discs until I have to

I'm not sure if that one does it. Try it and see. I know there is one that does, I'll look around through my files and see if I can find it.

Yeah, it should work.  Winamp based players just send a message to the winamp program.  If the CDG plug-in is installed Winamp will look for the CDG file and play it.

These Juke programs are a little different than Karaoke programs. Some of them have an "overlay" screen, that won't let you see the karaoke song running, or they will stop it. I have tried about 10-12 of them, and most of the ones that use WinAmp won't let the CDG file load. There are a couple that will, and they advertise them as having a Karaoke option.
