Would others agree that the Phone/CTRL is the best 'out' from the mixer?

By far the best Recorder for the money for Karaoke uses is the Zoom H-4 Handy Digital Recorder.  The web site below was a great choice. They provide a FREE 22 page, PDF, Custom H-4 Manual geared towards the Karaoke user. It will save you a lot of time learning the hardware and the included software. It's great to see a site that actually helps you learn how to use it and not just walk away after the sale.
Good luck!

RCL,

I ordered one of the iKey recorders thursday regular ground and it was waiting for me on my porch when I got home from work friday afternoon.  Well after a trip to get an rca to rca cord to hookup to my record out on the mixer and a few false starts with volume adjustments I got some very good quality recordings burned to a cd.  Plan to work on some more soon.  Since my money has been tight this year this was a great tip. It is really all I need. I have a turntable hooked up to my mixer for playing my old LPs and may try it on some of them too.

Thanks

You can buy a used Boss BR532 on ebay for as little as $40!  Just make sure you get a 128MB memory card with it.  Chack out my subs... most of them were done using JUST that machine, & a Shure mic.

Mark,

You do sound great.  I have actually never bought anything on ebay.  Mostly I never order anything. I like to just go to a store for my shopping.  Bought this recorder because I couldn't find one I could afford. Looked at some real nice ones $300 and up at the local GC. I do plan to try to put a few songs on the singer showcase when I figure it all out.  I think this unit will work for me and sound good since I have really good home system to hook it up to. Then maybe someday I can go for something better.  I do wish it could playback.

Thanks

Yes that is an inconvenience to have to remove the flashdrive and go to the computer and plug it in there to listen to it, but for $50 and the quality I have been able to get from it along with the somewhat limited use it will see I am very pleased with it. When I get back home tomorrow night I will upload a song.
