I thought Phil fixed that Joyce, because we complained about it so much and the last time I edited a comment of mine I looked to see if it changed the rank of that person and it did not...So I was like yeah!!! CooL!! Phil fixed it so we can correct our mistakes in typing without it affecting the ranking part.

Soooo.....Once it did, but since phil fixed it I don't think it does....now I could be wrong, and if I make a spelling mistake on a comment...Im one of the first ones to go back and correct my bad spelling or typos....thats why we fussed about it until phil fixed it.

So unless its changed it shouldnt affect it.  :)

You're probably correct Jesse.. that it has been fixed since last summer...time goes by so fast, my mind is still catching up!!

Who really cares who listens to what & how many times?  Really?  Does it really matter or make a difference, is there some kind of thing that hurts a "score" or something if you get alot or not enough listens/comments?  I don't belong to the SS myself, but I listen to many subs, sometimes often, sometimes I start laughing the first note out of their mouth!  If you don't want people to comment on a song, don't allow them to add comments!!!  Guess I don't see any drama except the person that brings it up in a couple separate posts bringing up the fact of "drama".
Just a personal opinion.

"Dont start no sh** wont be no sh**" is the point I am trying to make with the couple of threads... If you read the first thread entirely it was my OPINION I was stating on the drama this particular person is always starting in general...I named no names UNTIL he started trashing me on said sub. I just felt angry...again, my right....its also my right to add a thread on this site am I right??

NOT angry with you for stating your opinion but wanted to clarify

My own feelings on submitting material in Singers Showcase, is that MOST can stand to have broader backs, and let more roll off of their backs when it comes to comments they disagree with,  possible grudges carried over from other areas, etc. Too many that submit material in Singers Showcase DO in fact get defensive, and the reality is that once you decide to submit your material you really have no control of others reactions and comments regarding your material, when people throw eggs you don't throw them back.  Similarly if an audience applauds you or boo's you, at that point the performance is over, you have to live with it..EVEN the heckling remarks.. It gets into the "Take what you can use, and leave things you can not (as well as the accompanying diatribe) elsewhere".  In a live performance or actual critique often people tell you what they feel (right or wrong) DO carry out grudges (because the teacher or colleage just might not like the student -performer), and egos always abound in the arts.. It's not a fun process, and it does become political.. Actual critiques are usually followed with a tacit understanding that "this is my opinion and if you don't like it tough, I liked how you did this, and lose the ____ _____ etc."
You don't fight with your audience or choose them..
Thing is, comments should be carefully constructed too, regarding the performance and nothing more, (or the persons growth as a performer), not evoke or perpetuate tangential situations.

Sad thing is,  those that end up bitter, shift emphasis from the MANY positive comments and friends, to the one or two situations that got their goat, have lost site of what they are really doing when they perform their craft in any venue, which is sharing something they love.  Yeah this stuff can get maddening,  MOST of us can't handle it for a long duration.  Few are thick skinned enough to do their thing, respond concisely or ignore and leave graciously day after day in the performing arts..  It's BRUTAL.

JMO..

Kudo's to those that seen to have a tough enough hyde, or have learned to develop a suit of armor enabling them to submit material and hang in despite other aspects of life trickling in.

When I grow up,  *I* want to learn how to appear to deal with stuff I can't stand.  I want to learn how to ignore the nasty comments, or baiting comments..  This is TOUGH.

Singers Showcase IS NOT easy.  Those that can take it day after day, maturely, I commend you.  I could not.

its called perspective honey. In the greater scheme of things what does it matter? And if it does matter THAT much to some then yes they really need to take a long look at themselves.
It's a lark nothing more. For me personally I respect a select few and their judgement. I continue to sub under C for the simple reason the rest like to feel important and knowlegable, and at the end of the day criticism doesnt bug me, I still get booked and still get paid ;-)

OK,  Thanks.  I'll see if I can find it on Ebay.

Eating native honey didn't help my tolerance for criticism.  I've been trying since reading this  :(

Hi Folks... i dont know if this is any use to this thread... and i dont have a cklue what this thread is about btw lol.... but... i noticed that the only way to add a number of listens to a comment is to press listen then exit out of the listen window before pressing listen again.... i realised this when i once wanted to listen to how one of my recordings sounded being played back via the quicktime thingy....i listend to it pressing the listen button maybe 10 times but it never increased the amount of listens to my sub...it only added a listen if i actuially shut the quicktime down and then pressed listen again.... now this is prolly of no piggin use at all but thought i would share this experience with you... so i guess im saying.. its a lot of hard work for someone to keep opening up quicktime and shutting it and then listening again just to raise the amount of listens..hope this helps....happy holidays

Good luck to you Bobz......you know what I'm referring to and I'm in your corner.  You're the Champ and you'll knock this one out in 2 rounds, easy!  Just don't take a sudden turn for the nurse--I mean, worse.  Yours, Michael

oh dear Michael are we resorting to being brattish yet again? Sweety you can bring on the stupid comments if it makes you feel better :) It will never affect me and all you will do is demean yourself even further
