If someone was "kissing on the veranda" I would be a tad worried why they are kissing architecture ...not so much whether they are dressed or not doing it [/quote]
I knew a girl who kissed me on my veranda once. It was really cool.

Well I guess IMHO it just depends on how much chemistry there is...and even then it has to be lips starting off....THEN tongue...hehehe! I'm sorry but if a guy came at my face with mouth open and tongue hangin' out the very first time he tried to kiss me I would say EEK and head fer the hills

I think it depends on the comfort level. I had a first date that ended in a very long kiss last spring.. tongues and all....second date was same thing but longer. Just depends on the people and how comfortable they are around each other.

when I went on a date with a guy a couple years ago it was a nightmare. Things were somewhat awkward anyway, then when we were watching a movie he came at me and shoved his tongue in my mouth. It was like being attacked by a hungry fish! I grabbed his face and shoved him away. UGH

Kissing is definitely an art.. it should start out slow and tender and get more passionate as it moves forward.... :dancin:

I sure don't just open my mouth and get french with my wife immediately. I check her reaction and body language and go from there.

Yeah, Chuck, a one-sided kiss isn't good for either of the people involved. If you want to know how not to kiss, just approach your average family dog. Tongue is involved there long before lips are . Do dogs even have lips?
I am very romantic and very passionate. A first kiss can certainly turn into something bigger and better but I much prefer to start slow and let the passion build. And Chuck's right. Body language and reaction will pretty much tell you if you are on the right track or it's time to pull back.
Man, first kisses are great. There's the anticipation, the "will she or won't she", the "what if she will". I think all of that stuff is really romantic.

Awwwwwwwww Larry you are such a romantic  ....and so funny too
I totally agree about starting slowly and letting body language guide you And to me first kisses are great....once they're over with and out of the way...hehehe :D There's always a little nervousness involved in the first kiss...but after that they just get better and better

Kissing? This is the oddest conversation to walk into. If I don't have it right
by now I'm in trouble. LMAO
And as for trans- patios - some of my best freinds have trans- patios
and they are just like everyone else. We shouldn't judge them because they are different. Oh the humanity.

This is an odd conversation. Until now I thought everyone was pretty much on the same page as far as this stuff was concerned. I was under the impression that there were generally accepted social conventions (not to be confused with a Shriner's Convention) covering this. Not so, I guess.
I'm not much of a social kisser. I tend to leave that sort of thing for romantic moments. So it's not too much of a surprise that someone like me who has no experience with the "air kiss" also has no experience kissing with his eyes open. I feel some compulsion to assert here that whether you kiss with your eyes open or closed it is probably a good practice to make sure that if you're going to kiss somebody you proceed with your eyes wide open. To do otherwise could be disastrous. When I was growing up in Nebraska a kiss was practically a sign that you were engaged. Many a young guy found himself in church afterwards at the wrong end of his new father-in-law's shotgun. Just a word to the wise. Don't do any "hit and run" kissing in rural Nebraska.
Larry
