Just wondering if I'm missing it or what.. (oh plus this counts as one of my required posts )
We used to have polls for the entire week to choose theme... I don't see one for next week at all and apparently I missed the one last week cuz it was only up for a day before theme started??? or 2 at the most..
is theme dieing out?? or what's happening???

It's sort of dying out... I took it over for a short time but my job changed and I don't have time to do it anymore. Suzanne took it over for a while but I know she's busy as well - including being out of town sometimes. I was hoping Phil could write a script to put it up automatically each week but I never asked - though I likely should have.
I'm sure if someone wants to post the poll for next week no one will have a problem with it!

One post has apparently disappeared cuz now it just says "linked" and when I click on it it says "does not exist"
But here's one that I found yet:

Heya CC long time no see!!!
Apparently it's not a "new" rule... it's something in the terms and conditions I guess we agreed to when we signed up for the site.. it just hasn't been enforced but sounds like it will be now... IS there a copy of the T & C somewhere linked here cuz I've yet to find it so I can review what else I agreed to do or not do LOL
PAUL... what are you saying?? That I'm naughty? :yum: noooo.... I'm so innocent

Hi Cindy,
I was looking for the poll, too. It usually changes on Mondays, is that right?? What I haven't been able to find, is where to vote on the poll, I have only seen the results. Can someone direct me (once it comes back on)?

if you're seeing the results Connie then you've hit it too late... but in this case it looks like it's not up for this week.. so no one's seein anything
it used to be put up on Monday's and then run all week for the following week... closing Sunday night...
but lately it has been going up Saturday's .. sometimes Sundays and then ending Sunday night I believe... so that's why if you're coming on Monday's you were probably seeing just the results
??? Just my guess I guess...

There's a poll? Of course there is a poll! I have seen a poll but not in quite awhile! Maybe I should go look for hiden polls somewhere! Honestly, I have seen them from time to time but I have not ever paid them too much attention. I guess I should from now on! --Mike

Um, the poll has not died out. I was out of town. I did run the poll until this week. I PMed Phil and asked him if he would just put "oldies" up as this week's theme, since it came up as second on the poll last week...he told me on Sat. or Sun. that he would put it up Monday, but obviously he forgot. I was really busy traveling so I didn't think to check in or remind him...sorry....but you can mostly blame him
I'm happy to keep doing it...but only Phil can change the genre.

As far as I know, the polls didn't run all week, just a few days...I just started doing them a month or so ago, though. I usually put it up Friday or Saturday. I can put it up sooner if everyone would prefer that. I was just basing it on what I saw before that.
If someone else wants to start putting up the poll, that's fine with me. I just volunteered 'cuz no one else did.
AFAIK, the themes are not dying out, but the people who come here to read/post/vote sure seems to be.

It's not dying out, just didn't put one up this week See the above explanation. I have been out of town for most of the past two weeks. I usually have no problem with that, I have my laptop and everything so it is no big deal. I have no problem with continuing it, or if someone else wants to do it, that's fine, too.
When I first started going here (last October) the new theme started on Sunday, but then it got delayed to Monday. But it basically changes whenever Phil gets around to it I suggested to him that maybe he should find a day where he is more likely to remember than Monday, that would work better in his schedule. I usually remind him, but I was too busy this week, so I didn't check again until today to make sure. If you ever see the genre has not changed by Tuesday, feel free to email or PM Phil!

Yep.. when NHOH was doing them.. the new poll was usually up Monday morning and we had all week to vote on them until Sunday night then Monday morning the new theme was announced and a new poll put up for the next week.. People could watch its progress and comment as it went.. cheering for what was leading or what was behind, etc..
here's an example: http://www.karaoke-forum.com/viewtopic.php?t=4349
Sometimes it would first end up being posted Wed. or Thurs.. but it was pretty consistent that it'd go up Mon. morning when the new theme kicked in. I looked back at page 2 of this forum and even karaokemeister had been posting them by Tuesdays.
The longer the poll is up the more people will have an opportunity to vote on them I guess. I'm not here every day like I used to be so when I am here.. it might not be up.. I'm sure there are others like that as well.. Even apparently yourself Suzanne.. sounds like you're awfully busy these days and don't have the time that you once did to come here.
but it's no big deal........ nothing to scrabble over...

I wasn't scrabbling whatsoever, just explaining!
I just went by what Ed told me when he asked me to do it...
I still haven't heard from Phil so I don't know what's going on with him. I'm assuming he will put up "oldies" this next week if he is around...I hope he's okay!
