Our chameleon (veiled) needs a reptile UV lamp in her setup. She is actually doing really well in the setup we have for her right now. Jay is not sure whether iguanas need the calcium powder we have to give to Kiwi or not (shake and bake crickets anyone?) My boyfriend actually had a Burmese Python at one point . The list of reptiles he has had is pretty long.. I will get him to come on here and share.. he has an account, he just never uses it

I haven't heard much about Veiled or Jackson's requirements for calcium, even though both Iguana'a and Chameleon's are omnivorous species, it might be on account of the Iguana's size, when in captivity, for skeletal growth it needs calcium powder as a supplement for what it isn't able to get in it's natural habitat. Have you ever seen the live Jackson's babies ?... funny little things.  Interesting, Veiled are egg-layers, but Jackson's aren't.

Check a "pets & Vet's" type site that has alot of bboards on herpetology.  Not sure if many would know intricacies such as calcium needs for a species of Chameleon on any other type site... What I found pretty sad, is VERY few if any of the baby reptiles survive in captivity, none made it to maturity that I knew of... Unless things are much more sophisticated today in terms of understanding of breeding such reptiles.... In the 1970's it was VERY tough to successfully breed them, the babies were extremely fragile, and didn't survive in a captive setting. They'd mate in captivity, the babies just didn't survive

I'm sure I saw that face on Star Trek. He was the last character in the end credits right before it switches to the screen that says Desilu productions.
