FINAL KITTY RESCUE POST.   I saw him outside with the rest of the family.  Looks like he will be OK.

I am so glad you found the kitty and it will be ok...I have always liked cats...I've always wanted a black long haired cat..But everytime I get one it dies...It can be a kitty or it can be older, they always die....I have come to realizr that this won't ever happen for me so I gave up and I inherited my husbands cat when we got married..He's cute but he won't let us hold him and that bothers me..

As for dogs...I have an unnatural fear of them...Especially the big ones....I can deal with being around them as long as they are really docile....My son begged for a dog a couple of years ago...I let him have it and he has turned out to be a really good dog....I have actually trained him to do a couple of things....But to me the dog seems to be very co-dependant...Almost reminds me of Kappy at times LMAO...But seriously this dog cannot be alone...he is always right there...He won't stay outside or go to potty without someone being with him....

Is this normal????

I think most dogs are in need of lots of attention. My wife and I would love to have a dog but the poor thing would die of lonlieness as we both work massive hours. They are so eager to please you and live for your approval.

Kappy - they are not Canadian. They are Shynx. They originated in the US and
Europe. As far as being allergic, my cats don't bother my allergies, but I am highly allergic to cats with fur. Most people with cat allergies are allergic to the dander which is basicly their dead skin cells. You can still be allergic to a Sphynx if your allergic to cats. Hairless cats produce a lot of oil on their skin which cuts down on dander. Plus you bath them regularly which cuts down on dander. So they aren't a good pick for some people with cat allergies. They are very expensive, so it is something you have to be sure of before you by them. They have the personality of a dog and need a lot of attention.

I had to laugh about the dog that has to have his owner with him to go to the bathroom. My cats meow for you to go with them when they go to the litter box. It is comical. They come to your legs meow and run to the direction of where they want you to go. Of course I fell for it a few times, but when I realise all they want me to do is watch them pee I turn around. I love my cats, but they can pee on their own.

Bab's.  Since they are your babies I won't challenge you on their history.  It was my understanding that the Sphynx Canadian (actually Mexican) hairless originated around Toronta around 1966.  I thought they were Mexican yet for some reason became recognised around Toronto 40 years ago... and went by the name Sphynx Canadian Hairless.

European ?   No wonder you paid so much,  Do the AKC paper's say "Polish Chihuahua"?

LMAO

There may be such a thing as a Canadian Sphynx, but I am not formiliar with them.

Looky what I found.

Although hairless cats have been reported throughout history (hairless cats seem to appear naturally about every 15 years or so), and breeders in Canada have been working on the Sphynx breed since the early 1960's, the current American and European Sphynx breed is descended from two lines of natural mutations:

Dermis and Epidermis (1975) from the Pearsons of Wadena, MN, USA and
Bambi, Punkie, and Paloma (1978) found in Toronto, ON, Canada and raised by Shirley Smith.

I guess that explains it.

I am sooo glad the kitty is ok!

In our family we've had very few cats.  When I was younger we did have two cats (strays) named Me and You.  They moved with my sis & I when we went to live with my dad and the stepmother kicked them out of the house.  My grandparents had a cat or two (strays at the resort) and I liked them but always did find cats to be kind of stuck-up.  Both my kids have cats and just love them.  I shall always be devoted to dogs but I can see the attachment to any animal.

LMAO Too Funny, as I was reading your post our Sophie jumped up on the couch and is snuggling with me.  She is the only one of three that won't stay outside very long unless we are with her or the blinds or door is open and she can see us.  Our other dogs also stay in the room with us but will stay outside for 10 minutes or so without us.  All three of them don't like it when Richard and I are home and are in different rooms or one of us is outside.....  We had two dogs before these three and they were also very co-dependent.  I guess it's because they are a pack animal...

Susie :)
