I'll do that right now.... Thanks.
OK, I wouldn't be too happy with some of that trip, especially Montana, and Idaho...
Yet parts of Colorado look pretty nasty too

Did Melly ever show you the photo of the little footbridge she has over the creek between her house and shed ?

You guys rock - I feel so much better now. I'm so glad I posted
the topic. I assumed everyone stayed and partied.
The Kj that was before me in this bar always drank with the crowd
and stayed passed close. I don't drink while I work and don't stay after.
He has been gone for a few years now, but people still remember him and his wife.
I think he just did it for fun. They would buy so many drinks for the patrons I swear they weren't making any money. Sorry but I can't afford to keep everyone drunk.
The great thing is I didn't lose my crowd at all - I was afraid when I first started people would expect me to be like him.
Thanks again for your support!

Babs ~ It sounds like you take your job seriously. It's not just party time all the time. When you're done at the end of the night, it's time to "clock out" and go home.
That's obviously what most people in other lines of work do! No reason to worry about that one! :)

Don has an excellent point Bab's.
Not just that, but you've told us about this nasty boss of yours, and the environment you work in where some drunk idiot threw a chair at you and noone even threw this guy out ! noone employed at the venue really supported you. IMHO, based on what you've described about how administration is in that given venue, it sounds like it might even be best that you just
"Did your job, and left". Sounds as if that's the best way to cover your butt in such a non-supportive environment. Look at it this way, if you DID stay, and party with them, that MIGHT lesten your worth to your current boss, and make your job tougher with the patrons who might try to perhaps take advantage of their social stature with you, maybe making your job tougher. It doesn't sound like a very professional ambience you work in to begin with. So to best cover your own butt, it's likely best that YOU remain professional !
Keep an "arms length" distance between you, and most of "them". *JMHO*

Kappy -
Isn't that the truth!
I have to say my crowd isn't all bad. I've grown fond of many of them. The guy that threw the chair backed off. He still comes in every night I work. He makes comments to me like " I'm being good tonight" and " Thank you for letting me sing". The guys at the bar gave him a good talking to. I'm fortunate to have regulars that look out for me.

weel, since i live only a couple of blocks away from my gig, i sometimes stay for a beer or two. last night i stayed until close, but that was beacuse there were no and i mean NO men in the bar! i felt it was my duty to stay and keep the women safe from any of the bad people who may come by!
on a side note, i appologize for my absence lately. i have been extremely busy and have had very little time for anything aside from my real job, my kj gig, recording the demo for my band, a weekly poker tourney and my wife! something had to give. unfortunately it was my time here!

Right before I started my rokkenroke biz I picked up a copy of Karaokescene magazine circa 1992 or 93. The front cover was of a karaoke host ( the name escapes me ) who was killed after one of his shows in Lakewood calif. He had been partying with some folks after a show, and as he left he was assaulted and robbed and left for dead. That has left a lasting impresson on me. After a gig I load up , get paid and go home and secure the goods. THEN AND ONLY THEN will I hook up with that sweet girly girl whos been givin me that hey nanny nanny look all night and.... well you get the point. Some people will think your stuck up or anti social but I want to real careful. This world is full of all kinds of looneys and nut jobs, pirates and what have you...... I think t would be a geat service to rerun that article to remind some of you kj,s to be careful out there.... c-ya peace love rokkenroke

That is scary! Thank you for sharing. It reminds me to always have someone walk me to my car.
