<snip> From the responses I have seen to my first post they think I am locked into a method.. I can switch dj to kj or shift the method of taking requests in a heart beat.. I talk to my people and let them know whats going on. I am not in a rut too boring for me... And when it is done and 2 or 3 people walk up and say hey old man you do a good job...Suddenly I am not as tired as I thought I was. I will continue to perfect this system for it establishes new friendships and bonds, business and a satisfaction that almost you get from turning on a crowd from singing.. Now if I can just remember their names..
Ok Sue now I'm done rambling
- I didn't think you were locked into a method; certainly no more than we are! :) I just don't see where you have the time to search for songs for people, especially if they come to you and ask you if you have a particular artist! I envision something like this:
Customer - -"Do you have any Elvis?"
KJ - "Sure do, do you have a particular song in mind?"
Customer - "Which ones do you have?"
KJ -
And this could go on & on.....
When I sing I'm not sure what I want to do until I take a spin through the book.... I guess this is the point where you refer them to the book though. I'm sure you also have alot of people that do the same songs each time so that would make it easy for both of you.
I know what you mean about suddenly not being so tired when there is positive feedback! What a rush!
