I know--you probably came here thinking I was gonna ask about having karaoke at a wedding. But I'm not.
I'm actually asking if you've ever had a couple meet at your show, fall in love and then get married.
I have had two couples do just that already, with two more that look like they are headed down that same road! I think it's pretty cool and I guess this topic could piggyback on the one about going out to karaoke alone, since most of these folks came in alone, made new friends and eventually met that special someone!
Who needs E-harmony when you got karaoke?

I've had singers meet at my show and some are still together in long term relationships. One guy proposed to his lady on stage at my show and they now have a child and are very happy after 4 yrs. I was recently the KJ/DJ at another couples wedding reception. I have also witness people meeting at my show, leaving with each other and when they returned, seperately, they couldn't stand to be within 10 feet of each other. Isn't it fun to watch the lives of our singers from a "safe" distance. Catch the "Spirit"

Good subjsect.....
On my first date, with the woman who is now my wife, I meet her after she got off work, then went out to eat, and she had a karaoke show that night, then I went to that for a bit. At the time I had only sang karaoke once before about 7 years previous to our date. The wife had been hosting shows for about 8 years before that. We think it was one of her shows that I song at 7 years before.
We got married about 1 & 1/2 years later, and I joined the KJ business with her about 6 months after that first date.
AS far as others, we have had 2 couples that "hooked" up during our shows. All four were regulars at our shows, and now one couple is married, and the other couple is planning to get married this comming fall.
and another twist....The 2nd couple (unmarried ones), wanted to get in the DJ business, since he had a boat load of CDs. Me and the wife fronted the money for him to buy equipment (all Behringer and a dell laptop), and put him under our name (sleective sounds). And for the first couples wedding reception, we combined all our equipment and put on a HELL OF A SHOW! It had more lighting effects than any club within a 100 mile radius of us lol and the reception lasted for about 6 hours.

Some friends of mine met in a karaoke bar but they were working, they then got married at the bar and they picked karaoke singers to sing the music during the ceremony... It was definately different, but cool at the same time. They are divorced now.....

Haven't had any meet and get married that I know of yet. One guy who had only been singing for a few weeks got his girlfriend up to sing the first time with the song Picture and then proposed to her on the stage. They are now engaged and we are awaiting a date to do the wedding for them.

I met my common-law man through karaoke... he is a host too. Anyone ever fall in love with another host?!
I have a couple who met at my show and now have a baby. They aren't married yet but have asked me to sing at their wedding when they do. Very sweet.

My first date with my ex-fiancee was going to the karaoke place I have since become quite the regular at.
Of course, our LAST DATE was there too.

Why did you not stop me!!!!!!!!!!!! He/She was the ugliest person I've ever seen!
It's amazing how attractive people get as the alcohol level increases, even the fat ones get skinny and then you wake up next to him/her the next morning, not being able to stop the horror in your eyes showing.

Until last weekend, I never thought about that. Yes, I flirted with women in the past after singing, mostly older women. However, I saw this woman, not a particularly a beautiful woman, sing and fell for her. Unfortunately, she left in a hurry and I didn't have chance to talk to her. I talked to one of people in her party and made a contact and left a number with her to call. I doubt anything could happen but who knows. I am optimistic.
I am off to Vegas this weekend to play in a poker tourney. I am trying to find a decent karoake place around. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance.

I have done many weddings for people I know or have met through bars. With, and without, karaoke. The receptions all turned out great, and so far as I know - everyone's still married - weird!

Generally, having been in the restaurant industry for 8+ years and being behind the bar at least 4 times a week for that 8 years - I've seen all kinds of weird hook-ups and hell, some of them have even lasted! :) Hell, my current squeeze looked me up after 10 years (we had dated in highschool) - found me at my bar and we've been back together everyday since.. Now if only I can start getting $400 KJing gigs so I can start saving for that rack sys- uh erh, I mean ring.. hmmmm.. in a slightly off subject, why is it that women want rings but, personally, I'd say yes to marriage for a nice steak dinner and movie tickets..
