ohhhhh don't sweat the big 50 Steve.  Personally... I had a VERY hard time turning 40. THAT was really hard for me... but 50 ... hey, ya gotta look at it as an accomplishment  :hi5:

On a completely different topic... Have you ever listened to Morgan102 sing, over in  the SS?  I know you love Motown... and take it from me.... NO ONE does it better than him.... and I mean NO ONE.  He's as good as several of the original artists........ and I am NOT exaggerating!!!   Justs a heads up ... if you are looking to hear some extremely FABULOUS Motown performed.

Yeah,  I don't think about it much :fright:      LOL

:baby1:  I still feel like I did when I was 18. Fi&%Y is an OLD sounding word. Especially considering I haven't a clue what I want to be if I grow up  :(    Well I have an idea, but it feeds the vicious cycle :ggof:

Morgan was one of the first few members I listened to, very talented.  The reason I did in fact listen to him, was that it's song title that sparks my interest. Around a year ago, I was floored by the number of talented vocalist's there were in here..That's the only reason I joined. I like being around other musicians (even though many don't consider themselves musicians..LOL. they are).I was over in listenToMeSi**, (can't advertise)  LOL , you know the banner up top here..and I was telling a friend how the ratio of talented singer's is nowhere near what it is here...Here there's a pretty high percentage of talent... She brought up a good point... Probably over in "that other karaoke place", people aren't going thru the same effort of purchasing song's that they like on disc, working as much on their choices to submit etc.  Thing's are more spontaneous there I suppose. Anyone can pay, and access the database there.  Here it takes more effort, having the song, having spent money on some recording equipment, etc.. There's more invested interest here when a person submits in most cases... more effort goes into recording's here, more intricate tweaking of setups and sound I guess, more pride .  I'm still half-asleep, pardon any incoherent phrases....Insomnia's been hanging out again.  Hope all is well with you, and your loved ones Cindy. Hope you are getting some rest too.. and taking thing's easy....  I HAVE to start hanging in Singer's Showcase more.. It's why I joined, somehow I've seemed to lose sight of that.

Yup....... this place is filled with a number of talented vocalists AND performers.  In some cases... at least for me... its not just the "voice" that attracts me to  the singer.... but the "delivery" of the song.  In a way.... I see them as two seperate talents.  I know some people with very good voices, who have no real skills at "delivering" the song... "reaching" the audience.  On the other side of the coin.. I know some people that are so skilled at "presentation" .. that ya can "ignore" that maybe their voices aren't top shelf.  Guess that's why I love music so much.  There are just so many ways to enjoy it!

Yes, Im doing well enough, Steve.  Thanks for asking.  Son is STILL looking for work, but actually has a couple of decent prospects that he's hoping to hear from this coming week.  Otherwise.. its life as usual.  I head back to the classroom on the 23rd.... and of course, that big wedding show I mentioned is next Sunday.  Im staying busy ..  thats for sure.

And STOP worrying about that "day" coming up.  Perry always tells me .. with age comes wisdom.  Just think how smart you are now ....  :dancin:  :D  :worship:

Cindy,  Didn't you mention at one point over the course of your winter vacation you were going to go out towards Rochester ?   or that area to spend some time with relatives ?   or have you returned from that ?   Skidmore, and Colgate also had something like a 4-1-4 plan,   We got some rediculous credit for something January I believe,  sort've a "Form your own  excuse for a course type situation and have a prof support your thesis"... Some comprehensive one month joke... I think half the kid's studied Skiing and did some traveling        School was a long time ago, In the not too distant future, I'll get a senior discout wednesdays at certain stores, and get to attend community college for free....   Only difference will be years back I ended up kicked out've class and having to stand in the hall for being to aggressive.. When I'm 63,  I'll be carried into the hall because my snoring, and slobbering all over the desk will be disruptive to the rest of the class...

Three day's awake Cindy,   second time in 6 months.... I'm going to collapse now.probably sleep the day away..LOL.  I have to exercise, and get my walking and jogging in, or else I get squirrely... Spending hours in front of a computer, and not walking isn't a good thing for me.... ANyway, I'm afraid if I let my finger's have their way in here,  while I'm fast asleep,  there'll be more weird redudant content....LOL   Night Cindy,

OK Kappy time to get your wet brain into bed.....ready or not...... (placing one foot in front of the other, and slowly turning computer chair towards bedroom.......lean back and forth fast three times, to establish pendulum type momentum fast emough to launch self forward falling forword off chair, and landing face first smashing face into floor......   ummm,   nice firm mattress

Wow... three days without sleep... YIKES~  Get to bed and at least "rest".

Yes, the week before Christmas we went to Rochester to visit Perry's mom... who had a very debilitating stroke in August.  She is now in a Nursing/Rehab ... and doing better, though she's totally lost her ability to formulate speech.  She "talks" ... but her sentences make little to no sense, with the exception of a few words. If you listen very carefully ... you can sometimes figure out what it is she is trying to tell you.  However, cognitively she's quite good... understands and follows conversations well ... and her non-verbal responses are very good (nodding, smiling, pointing.. etc). She also has accepted things rather well... and her spirits and mood are quite good.  She has surgery on Tuesday ... to unblock an occluded artery ... to prevent another (likely fatal) stroke.  It's not a high risk procedure... but at the age of 83, any time you go through surgery.. there is a risk.  If all goes well... we are planning another visit sometime in April.

Okay... now .... GET UP OFF THE FLOOR ... and GO TO BED!!!

Talk to you later.

Cindy,  This is what I find most amazing about certain people.  How they can accept without fighting, and appearing  despondent.  Sort've like the conversation I was having with Keith, regarding "What constitutes a strong person",  to me at least, it seem's such a virtue, or ability put's a person up into the "strong" category. Assuming they are lucid.

Do I get my 1 year star under my avatar photo at 12:00 AM (exactly 9 hours and 45 minutes from now) ?  or will I have to lose sleep waiting to see exactly when it appear's later in the day 1-3-06 tomorrow ?    Just curious,  it's not like I'm obsessive or anything like that

(thing is,  What if there's a power outage, and I can't find this out ?  or if I get 86'd from this place before even getting a chance to find out ?  or if I forget about this, and miss seeing when it actually appears ?)

Damn, Stevo..  LMAO

Tell me about it Jerry,  I still have a tension hangover ! and what a party week it was. Some of us really let it all hang out when life's milestones come along.

I've booked the Waldorf in NYC for 1-03-07

Jerry,  How have you endured this many years of being such a high profile Star ?
You must have more money than Cosby, and Oprah combined.

Karyoker,  I just took a look at that M-audio microphone preamp and compressor/ SPDIF output.. Did you see the rating that got out've 33 reviewers ?   Pretty low compared to other M-audio equipment.  Please, let me get you something far more expensive, and nicer... Only the best for you guys,  and heck....It's only a drop in the bucket for some of us $$ wise...  OK,  now I need to click on those other links....LOL, Lord only know's what I'm in for now.. Jerry might need to pitch in.

I suppose if that's the mixer you prefer, I'll unpackage and return the Allen & Heath digital system I was going to go to Mail boxes etc with,  to ship to you in a few hours when they open.  I thought it was a pretty nice system, but if you like that Tascam, I understand
