Hi,

I was wondering if Karaoke people were also ringtone people - do many of you have interesting or cool ringtones on your phones, and not just the nokia tune?

Going further, do you think it'd be fun to have you (or your friends) singing a karaoke song as your ringtone?  

My phone's set up so that when my mate calls me, I get his (very bad) version of "Sk8ter Boi" singing out at me - for some reason, I'm always laughing as I pick up the phone.

The reason I'm asking is that I've been working on a "Karaoke Ringtone" system, and wanted to get your advice on it: Is it going to be a hit? Are we promoting it right? Would you try it? What songs should we use?

Ummm, since the ringtone is just the melody of the song, how is karaoke ringtone different from the regular ringtone? I would think since the music part of the karaoke and the real songs are pretty much the same, shouldn't the ringtones be the same as well? Maybe I am missing something here.

What we do is set up a system, so that you call up our number, sing along to the backing track,  we record you, and send the recording to your phone as the tone, backing, vocals and all!
