thought i'd jump in on this topic as i just purchased a plextor 716A (suppose to be able to copy and burn CD+G)  anyone used that particular model and with what software?  i am considering the power karaoke mentioned above, but i have been told that NERO will worrk just as well.  your thoughts?

Can't comment on the Plextor drive since I use Yamaha but I don't see why it should not work with all the software mentioned above. I am pretty sure that 716A is one of the models supported for CD+G burning.

As for Power CD+G versus Nero. I looked at Nero for a few minutes and decided against it. First, Power CD+G is very easy to use. Nero took me a few minutes to figure out what I needed to do. Also, Power has access to database so it looks up the name of each title. Of course, it's not complete but I am finding that 1 out of 3 discs are in the database. With the new copy feature, it's a snap coping a disc using two drives.

Hope this helps.

Yes, Karaoke Home Producer Software
Discover how easy you can add lyrics to your songs to play in karaoke player machines. You can quickly create karaoke cdg songs with sweep highlighting like a professional, or even redo songs you buy that have out-of-sync lyrics.

you can also use a freeware program called "editcdg" or "edit cd+g" or something similar. I have it on my home pc, and used it to correct blips when they occur,

I personally like "Karaoke Builder Studio" and have used it to build three home tracks! But it's expensive!

The are also PowerKaraoke and PowerKaraoke Plus. PowerKaraoke comes with an animated tutorial that shows how to create CD+G song. And the new version with full duets is coming soon.

I got my "extra" plextor drives I ordered... guys, I'm tellin' ya, get some now before they're out of stock (of the ones that work with karaoke subcode) and instead you have to rely on a "program" to do the ripping.
