Just think of it. We the karaoke crowd are the amateurs which is fortunate for us.
Look at the professional singers. They have to find an arrangement, a style, and new song..not exactly in that order. Then once this stress is over.....there is yet another. Will the song sell..or will it flop????All this happens in serious mode!!
On the other hand we the karaoke crowd have the song ready...we can sing as bad or as good as we want.....and there is no style to pick (except the style used on stage)......and.....there is no stress!! We simply do not care...as we are having.......fun.....fun...and more fun!!
Now in case you are going to point out the megabucks the professionals make....think of this.
Stress, medically speaking is extremely bad for health. So what is the motto?
"It's better karaoke...and a stress free lifestyle rather than that of a professional and........high blood pressure?????

Sorry, Munchkin, but neither you nor I could be a professional singer today.   :( Because:

1.  We're over 25
2.  We're not blonde
3.  We don't have any strategically placed tatoos
4.  We don't look starved to death!

So, for us, it's the church choir!

LOL  LMAO      LMAO  LOL

1. i am 25! if you subtract the rest
2. I could be blonde
3. I could draw a tatoo with markers

it's the last one that stumps me. I am a fluffy girl..who has OBVIOSLY NOT missed a food bar or BAR in the last ten years!

And as for the Church choir...um..i'd have to actually GO!...
:dancin:  LMAO

Idon't know what you are complaining about....I have just turned 60 last month (officially a senior citizen now)...and I am still singing away merrily. And  I'll probably keep singing till I am 80 years old..or more...so long as I am fit of course.
Look at my new submission...It Feels So Right  the Elvis song....just remember that a 60 year old is doing it.......Elvis did it when he was in his middle twenties..I think!!  There is no doubt us senior citizens are on the go..........and will keep on the goooooooooooooooooooooo!!!

1.  I could be 25...twice!
2.  I could put on a DP wig! :D
3.  I could buy stick on tatoos! :hi5:
4.  I could....give up cause this'll NEVR happen!  LOL  LMAO

And you're right about having to go to church to be in the choir.  Maybe we could start our own band...Snuggly Soft!  LOLOL  :oh yeah:

We're not complaining....at least I'm not.    I'm just pointing out the obvious when it comes to "professional singers" (at least in the country genre) of today.  Just take a look at CMT or GAC.  Young...pretty...well built.  Apparently older, average looking, normally built folks can't sing.  If they could, wouldn't they be on TV?  Or on tour?  I'm happy just trying to sing karaoke, especially with friends.  I reckon I have just as much fun...if not more...than the professional folks.  (Without the headaches!!)

Just wanted to clear that up.... :D

And I'm on my way to check out your tune! :handshake:

Not complaining.  Old age has it's rewards.  I'm looking forward to it.  See, only little old ladies can get away with being completely rude to people for no reason at all, for one thing.

And when ya get old, you can pretend that "in your day" you was a LOOKER.  (Providing all photographs disproving the claim are out of sight, of course).

As to singing.  I love to sing.  I've never stopped loving it.  We were just discussing the lack of worry about hitting the "BIG TIME" cuz there is no big time for those of us who are female and over 40.  If you hit it at 25, you can STAY big time as you get older, but you sure don't start there LOL.  That's quite fine with me, to be perfectly honest.  When ya know you won't be the next Dixie Chick or Shania or Cher, why then you go back to having fun........ which is why we started howlin into mics in the first place :)

the only thing I am regretting right now is that I am on dial-up 56k and I cannot listen properly to your submissions. I feel left out somehow. I tried to do what 10c girl said..but I have not the patience!!  I am a pensioner you see and cannot afford broadband yet.....here in Australia dial up is around 8 or 9 dollars a month whilst broadband is around three times that. Maybe later on it will reduce.
Tell me I have an idea. I have Windows Media Player...can your submissions be heard through there or would it be the same????

Yep.  Singing is what I do because I WANT to.  Because I CAN.  And it doesn't really matter how busy I am, because, well, I can work and HUM if I so choose, although it could earn me an odd look or two if I'm at a customer site LOL.

Songs run in my head sometimes all day long, so I don't even need a radio. LOL  I'm just a musical mess, I admit it!
