From the same source as my previous post on Swooning, came this:

"Schizophrenic patients may experience music as more attractive than normal subjects. Depressive and anxiety neurotics experience music as less attractive than normal subjects. Obsessive compulsive patients are more sensitive to music than normal subjects. In a different study by the same researchers [18], a comparison of two pieces of music with different tempo, slow and fast, revealed a difference in experiencing of music between normal subjects and patients with mania. Patients with mania associated fast tempo with positive emotions and declared attraction to it, with the control group having the same emotions with slow tempo music."

When combined, my two posts seems to say that young people who like fast-tempo rock and roll are abnormal maniacs.  You see kids, your parents have been right all along :)

ok - so are researchers trying to tell us that musicans (or music lovers, which I would say encompasses a large portion of the population) are more likely to be schizophrenics??? Can I officially declare that as my excuse for my strangeness????  :dancin:

Schizophrenic people have illusiions of grandeur.  Like say, thinking they are TV evangelists, or professional singers, or something.  Oops, did I say singer?

TeriJo - thanks much - at least there's a group of us crazies together! :oh yeah:

Dave - You mean to tell me that those images I have in my head when I'm singing are FANTASIES???? Oh how I'm crushed.... and all those times I envisioned singing to sold out arenas were merely caused by my schizophrenia.... so sad..... so sad :crying2:

I don't know.  I've had lots of dreams about performing.  But then I like doing a lot of things.  I suppose if I were younger and knew I could sing, I would go for it.  Maybe take some voice lessons.  Get some coaching and professional opinions.  Oh I forgot.  I'd have to quit smoking.  The heck with it :)
