Hi All
I am a midi Karaoke fan who wants to convert to the CD+G's....My equipment consists of :
1) A pair of Yamaha MSP10's with the SW10 sub woofer
2) Yamaha PSR2000 Keyboard with Vocal Harmony
As far as the sound goes, I am extremely happy with the quality that I am hearing....the bass is clean and punchy as needed...The highs are crisp...etc.etc..
When I play a cd+g, it sounds very cheesy as compared to the midi karaoke....I have the Creative Sound Blaster Live Card...Is this the problem?? What equipment should I be buying? I will be picking up a Mixer in the next couple days.....
I know that I am rambling on, but I am hoping that the Talent on this board will get me through this
Thanks in advance
Ron

All midi Karaoke sounds terrible in my opinion. The average PC user does not have the PC or knowledge of advanced soundcard capabilites to make midi sound good, Such as soundfont creation and loading.
It's hard to understand exactly what you are asking.
Midi is hardware based it will sound as good as the soundfonts you can provide. I have a friend that is in Pro Recording and He has actual instrument sample sound fonts, Yeah they are huge and it takes 256 meg of ram sound dedicated to process and 4 gig of ram to run the software smooth but the stuff he creates in unreal.
Cd+g's will sound as good as the brand you buy. If you buy cd+g's at Wal-Mart that are $5 that is what they sound like. I suggest picking up a Soundchoice or Pop Hits Monthly disc you will notice a difference.
