Really, Crystal, to this day I still have girls I knew in high school over 30 years ago calling me on the weekends:

"Hi Chris? I just wanted to let you know I still won't go out with you."

ROFL, Christopher!

Speaking of points, I just found the Forum Shop today for the first time. So *that's* what those things are for! :)

Amy

Hi Steve,

Yeah, it's definitely more strenuous an activity then most people would believe it is. As you recognize, it's not like your just floating around in a "zero gravity" environment and so you do have to extend your arms and legs and keep your body extended in the proper position to gain any consistent flight within the vertical chamber. The fans are up high above you and there's only a netting for a floor so even if you lose the "lift" the worst that happens is you bounce off the floor netting. Also, there's an instructor in there with you so that if you get yourself pinned against a wall, he can peel you off.  LOL

They do have you sign forms stating that your physically up to doing the activity and they give you plenty of warnings about who shouldn't participate, for example:

Pregnant women
People with back injuries
People who are over 100 ft tall
Cats who smoke certain brands of catnip
Dogs that can only be dry cleaned
And the list goes on and on but you'll really find all ages particpating. Kids especially love it.

Anyway, gotta go for my 2nd cup of coffee. Was out singin' and  :dancin: dancin' til around 1am this morning and had a great time as usual! You have a great weekend, Steve!

Hi Amy!

Yeah, I had no clue about the points or what you could do with them either until I started reading other people's posts and then began connecting the dots...or points in this case. And they even have a Point Bank - it's in the little Karaoke strip mall between the Period Cleaners and the Colon Convenience Store! Let me know the next time you're heading down there and I'll meet you for a Semi-Colon Cola!

By the way, I love that profile picture of you with your kitty!  :O Wow! You must have to set one whole room aside in your home just for the litterbox! I'll bet he doesn't claw the furniture more then once - since there's probably nothing left of the furniture to claw after that first time! Actually, I couldn't really tell from the picture 'cause it was the usual small size that they allow here if that was a real tiger or just a really good facsimile of a tiger - and if it's a facsimile I'd really like to see the size of the FAX machine that sent or received him!  :O

I have a cat who is almost as big as the one in your picture, at least he eats like one who's almost that big!

Well, gotta run! It was a real pleasure meeting you, Amy! Hey, would you mind if I asked you one question about Texas that I've always been curious about...did some governor, years ago, pass some law that said only beautiful women are allowed within the state borders? It just seems like every woman I've met from Texas looks like they've just stepped off the runway of a Miss America Pageant. I know, I know, I'm just being silly.  :drunk:  Don't mind me, it was a late evening...or early morning depending on your time zone.

   to you, Amy...Your friend in song,

Christopher, the tiger was a resident of the FAO Schwartz toy store in Las Vegas (a stuffed resident, I might add.) They had the coolest stuffed animals there!

And thanks.:)

You know, I honestly thought he was stuffed but it was such a small picture and I was worried about possibly offending you by saying "Nice stuffed tiger!" And then you might have replied "He's not stuffed - he's real!" And then before you know I'd have swarms of people from "Save the Tiger" visiting my songs and ranking them with "Have you considered having your vocal chords cut, or maybe YOU should be stuffed!?"

If I'm ever in Vegas I'm going to FAO Schwartz and if I find that tiger I'll be sure to give him a BIG   - but first I'll mention your name 'cause I wouldn't want him to try to increase his stuffing with me - not with all those great Vegas buffets he could feast on instead.

And you're welcome.

Chris,  The fans in the wind tunnels are above you ?  or below you ?  I assumed the propeller was beneath an open grid on the floor and the current is directed upwards. You enter the wind stream which is beneath you...... starts at 60 mph, and is increased to 120 mph when you are ready for the full prop speed.

An actual plane type propeller blows upwards from beneath the floor (is my understanding)

Ever stand a little too close to a helipad when a helicopter is taking off ?

I made that mistake once 15 years ago.  I never realized the turbulence a relatively small copter blade pushes downward until I was blown a few feet like a leaf. Amazing force when it creates the airfoil, (I wasn't directly beneath the propeller either..LOL)  I was just too close obviously.  The pilot must've gotten a kick out've watching the foolish spectator on the ground go for a tumble.  Obviously he'd have known what was about to happen
