Does anyone know what is the difference between the JCV XL-SV22BK and the RSQ SV222 karaoke players?  They look identical.  I have two local shops in my area, one says the JVC is better and the other says the RSQ is better.  Both shops carry both brands.

rsq is a jvc with the front retooled for another manafacturer. Jvc was the a Poineer in the cdg market, and I would assume that it would be of higher quality..

Kinda like the tv manafacturers. Curtis Mathes buys the rights to make sets that are out of production by RCA, But proven to be of good design. CM Does make their own Sets, But they are made with different Brand components then the original.

I believe in the case of rsq they come off the same assembly line. But I did have an RSQ That has problems in that they were slow in reading the graphics. I never had that problems with my JVC's.

They ARE in fact the same players both made by JVC.  The RSQ is made by JVC for RSQ.  A while back JVC  was going to get out of the karaoke game altogether & RSQ got the licensing for the JVC design (still made by JVC).  Well then JVC decided to stay in the game & keep making the players for themselves as well but were still obligated to continue making the RSQ model as well through the licensing agreement.  So there is no difference between the 2 models.  This goes for the triple tray player as well.  These were the only 2 models made by JVC for RSQ.  The rest of the RSQ line is made by RSQ (or other manufaturers).

Check the warranty.  RSQ carries a 1 year warranty on those units while JVX is 90 days.

Just something to think about.
