Howdy folks!
Karaoke software:
MTU Karaoke Hoster
* Aside from being free, how does winamp compare?
Is most likely more usable than Winamp because there's a built-in key controller in MTU. There might be key controlling plugins available for Winamp, but I haven't seen any of those.

Laptop accessories:
Soundblaster MP3 + (to receiver)
S-video (to TV)
* Anything else?
I just got Sound Blaster Audigy 2 NX and am very happy with it. It's a very professional device indeed. So if you don't mind spending another $100 for that purpose, I really suggest you get that one with all the extra features instead.

Microphone:
Shure SLX wireless
* Is it worth the price for receiver/mic combo?
* Cheaper wireless alternative?
* Anyone know about AKG's WMS 400... has rechargeabale mic etc.
Hmm... never think about a cheper wireless, ok? You'll just go wrong, trust me! AKG could be a could choice, knightshow has some experience on that. Overall, wireless is always a good choice as it gives you more options how to arrange your shows.

Mixer:
Mackie's DFX-6?
Vocopro?
* Really no idea what to get...
Well, not Vocopro anyway!
Any small mixer like Alto or Behringer should do the job. You don't need key controller since it's already in the MTU software (unless it has bad sound quality, wouldn't know!).

I think that covers everything, but please correct me if I'm wrong. Thanks in advance for your help!!!
Yeah, I'd get a compressor limiter too. It makes everything so much easier. You'll know that once you've tried it!
