I was just wondering if anyone is putting their pipes to use to try and raise money for the Tsunami victims ?

I am thinking I might like to get something going here in Calgary (involving local pub and KJ). Is anyone planning anything or has anyone got any great ideas (or just ideas !) ?

Cheers

Lady Di

Funny this topic would come up... I just did a Karaoke-at-thon last night to raise money for the Tsunami Relief Organizations. It was a lot of fun! We held it near a college campus and did a lot of advertising before hand. We opened our show with an AWESOME college A cappella group singing 3 numbers.

We offered two large donation boxes that had a list of Tsunami Relief Organizations attached to it. We also put a hat on the floor for people to drop money into as participants sang.

A week before the show, we directed partipants to our website which allowed them to register, download a pledge form and choose a song from our online song library. The show was fun and so worth while because it was for such a good cause!

I'm happy to hear that others are thinking about doing this. I have a poster template & pledge form available for anyone who would like to use it... just let me know

I was recording a song last night to be dedicated to the tsumami victim to sub on the 26th of Jan., which is the month anniversary. Just could not finish it; cos the song is so sad. My country got hit by that big wave...sad

I recently went to a club that had a karaoke fund raiser for the tsunami victims. You had to put at least a dollar in the box for every song you sang. I'm not sure how much was raised, but every little bit helps.
