So, I bought one Pioneer karaoke DVD, and I thought it said you can turn the guide vocals on and off. It's not in the menu though, so I was wondering if I have to have a DVD player with a button to change soundtracks? It just seems to be "multiplexed" (vocals in the left channel). The bar's cheap mixer doesn't let me toggle mono/pan so I just have to throw the balance off.

What I'm wondering is if this is just how all the Pioneer DVDs are, or is there another stereo audio track without vocals that I can't seem to find with this DVD player?

yes, your player needs to go to audio left or audio1... cycle thru the different audio menus!

Most DVD players that support turning off one side of the audio has a 'karaoke' mode that will allow you to do this. My APEX 600a player is like this - it only allows dropping the audio on one side if you turn on the karaoke mode.

so if you can't get it to work, look for a karaoke mode on the player and try again.
