Crystal,
tomorrow, when I practice singing I will take a few pictures of my setup just to inspire your husband. I think it sounds as good (and loud) as any karaoke club I have been to.

oh great!! wow you guys are SO helpful! Thanks so much!
Great Idea. My hubby will appreciate the pics.
now all I gotta do is MOVE OUTTA MY APARTMENT! !!
I'm getting all this sound equipment and can't really take full advantage of it, cuz I'll upset the neighbors! !
oh well..... sometime in the new year we'll be buyin a house.... Perhaps I'll soundproof the computer room then I could REEEEEALLY belt 'em out!

Yes MortenN there is a lot to getting a clean sound and a sound room that has been set up properly is something I have always wanted to do, but for now I will have to stick with making the shows I host be all they can be.

You don't think 3000 sq ft above ground and 1700 below is enough

I get the feeling you like Carvin.
You've got almost as much equipment as I play out with.

bowfishn,
I think Carvin represents a very good trade-off between sound quality and price. Especially used!!
I bought the speakers and the electronic crossover used.
I think their amps are great. When I bought the mixing board I looked at Mackie and others. For the price I was willing to pay the Carvin is a really nice little board.
The only thing I haven't bought from Carvin are mics. Since the mic is a little bit like a musical instrument I preferred some of the better known brands with more complete lines: Shure, Audix etc. I hear though that the Carvin SM58 clone is very beta58a like, but haven't bothered to try it.
I also just bought a guitar from. Beautifully made, custom built for the same price as an of the rack American Strat with less advanced features.
Ooh, and did I mention excellent customer service. These guys takes care of you.
I am glad you like my stuff. A lot of the inspiration came from this board. The only thing I am missing (apart from a tube guitar amplifier) is a set of subs. Having the main cabs on poles removes some of the low frequency umph.
