take a look at exhibit a. notice the circled numbers that is supposed to be when the next song is supposed to be for each singer. subtract the time of singer 1 from singer 2. Now look at exhibit b:
Note that the result of your subtraction is the same as the average time setting.
This proves my assertion that Compuhost does not use real time to figure out when a singer is coming up to sing.

Yeah but Alan still claims that it uses real time to figure out when a singer is going to be up. Might be true for the first singer of the night but not true for the rest. Just so you know, the first singer's song selection was a song by Blue eyes himself which probably means that it was under 4 minutes long. And also of note, the software was fully activated without costing me a dime, unless you count reactivating Songbooks Online. I like the added kiosk feature that allows me to have my mobile kiosk.

Danny, how anal can you be? It would be impossible to give you "real time" between singers and be accurate. These are some of the things that happen when you call the next singer...
1. They take their sweet time coming up. 2. They talk to just about everybody along the way up. 3. They're in the bathroom. 4. They're outside smoking. 5. They come up but want to change their song. etc, etc, etc.
Now, that's why "real time" means bullsh*t. An average time is more accurate.
Secondly...
The Compuhost Control panel gives you all the information you need to know about a song that's playing which you can use to inform yourself or your singer when they're up next.
It this example, the display shows 28 seconds have elapsed of the total time of 4:26 and that there is 3:57 remaining. Is that helpful enough?
Danny, why do you make issues out of stupidity? I really don't believe you're real

I really feel sorry for you, have been as lucky as Toger to have audiences well trained to pat attention to the scrolling marquee and be ready to take the mic from the last singer when they are done with their song. I almost never need filler music between singers and usually don't even have to announce their names unless to acknowledge that they're coming up to sing. In fact I actually have the luxury to allow the player to autoplay into the next song.so yes at my shows, according real time player works for me and I can accurately tell the singers exactly when they can expect to be up next within a couple of seconds provided the information is based on real song time and not some estimate.it also allows me to know exactly when to cut off requests from singers who have sung in previous rotations. I can't do that with Compuhost. The only reason why I am going back Compuhost is that it has something that no other hosting software has and that's a certain subscription service that's not available elsewhere.
