Ever wonder why that often times the lyrics on some songs were incorrect? Although this isn't always the case, there were many times when we would have to resort to actually trying to decipher the actual lyrics from the recording as the lyrics weren't available either on the liner notes or anywhere else for that matter. This was especially true in our case as we only did current releases and the actual lyrics just weren't available at the time we were recording the song. I think that has changed since then and currently there are better resources available today. Of course there are times when you have to ask yourself "hmmm, what were they thinking?", to which I have absolutely no answer!

Oh I never had a doubt those manufacturers didn't have actual lyrics and tried to decipher what it sounded like and went with it. Karaoke conspiracy theorists always claim it was a way to try to get out of paying lyrics (sync) licensing by changing the lyrics ever so slightly .

And, yet another theory was (and is) the counterfeit CD+g disks made in China were built with a non English speaker..

Are you guys implying that all we really needed to do was hire a person of Chinese descent whose native language was Mandarin Chinese and we could have avoided paying "sync" licenses? Dang, I wish I had known that a long time ago before I learned that the earth was flat and that we never really did land on the moon.

I was standing on a piece of that flat earth..

All they had to do was go to LYRICS.com and DL the complete lyrics. They may have inserted incorrect lyrics on purpose so Lyrics.com or the original composer wouldn't come after them, though.

I didn't mind the wrong lyrics. But it can get funny sometimes when a word is wrong. However, lyrics today seem to be much better than before and has less mistakes. I would love to create a website on hpage.com and compile funny wrong lyrics seen in karaoke machines. That would be cool and it would be like a time machine of sorts!
